@cem_olcay I submitted a bug report through TestFlight, not sure if you saw it. I did get one crash in AUM while attempting to delete a custom mapping. But yes, I am definitely enjoying it!
With the number of feature requests you've received, you could probably spend the rest of your life developing new versions of Textquencer. I would probably move on to other projects if I were you. But maybe there could be a Textquencer 2 some day?
I noticed that you can't place the playhead, and you can't place the text writing cursor to edit the sequence while the playhead is running. Those would be some nice features to have for a sequel.
Yes, I fixed that issue, thanks!
I haven’t seen any issues. Any chance of MIDI export? Thanks!
I just noticed something that's a ME issue... not Textquencer
I tried it in both BM3 and Drambo, loading two instances of Textquencer thinking I could trigger more than one note at the same time. Is there some trickery needed to fix that?
Edit: On Drambo I figured it out.
I put a midi mixer after the two instances. Not sure on other hosts, but i'll try to figure it out
Btw, this way, running even the same text with different rates and octaves is pure delight
I made two projects in AUM, one I posted a couple of days ago. I didn't try custom mapping, just the straight Textquencer to some synths, adjusting the parameters on-the-fly within the app.
I found no bugs at all
@senhorlampada : Just working on a second, slightly more complex piece using it, and the phrase ‘I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”, Oppenheimer’s famous quote from the Bhagavad Gita, following the Trinity A Bomb test. I love the fact that Textquencer enables you to weave an additional layer of meaning into a purely instrumental piece. Was it Bach who used to bury little Easter eggs in his pieces like that? I suspect my ‘Trinity’, a long, loooooong way from the brilliance of Bach, however, will paradoxically be a somewhat gentle piece…
I feel is good to go!
Yeah it is.
No. It’s not
Yep, I would love a way to shift the playhead ahead on one instance to have something like this:
All working good here on the beta @cem_olcay
Interested in that... And I noticed a new post from you on the main page. Off to check it if its the new one
Textquencer
Already. Dang @cem_olcay you’re on a roll. I’m enjoying it. Congratulations on the release.
The exception that proves the rule ☺️
Great idea - looks like a lot of fun. No doubt a few expletive experiments heading its way 🫣
Can you tie notes and have them longer than 1/16. Is this maybe typing the same letter twice. Also is there slides?
The new version dropped! You can set the font size from the settings menu with this update. I was gonna add this to the release version but I forgot 😅
OK, this one blew my mind, the app can work with the dictation, you can just say stuff and sequence it wow
(you might need to enable dictation on your settings app if you don't see a microphone icon on your keyboard)
That makes it so much better. Really cool.
Great idea! I’ve been thinking about alphabet to notes for a while. I mapped out a keyboard after studying a list of letters ranked by usage ( on Wikipedia I think) . For example, E is the most used, followed by T. - Q and Z are the least used. So I thought the most used letters should be more consonant to the root key and the dissonant intervals left for the least used. Without something like that you’re really just spinning out random notes, it seems to me.
So before I buy this, I just want to make sure I can remap the whole alphabet to my liking? Is that what can be done?
Unintended side effect of this app - it makes it really easy to give your track a meaningful name.
Just had a great time rocking out to this:
It’s never going to snow again
because Pat has new gloves.
It’s never going to snow again.
Yeah right I’m joking.
Better than journaling! 😁👍
Same here, customizable notes would be ideal. I'd like to do something like c1, c#2, etc. to make sequencing more intentional. I don't believe this is possible currently.
Yes, that is exactly what can be done. You can map any character to any MIDI note.
Yes, you can map any character to any specific MIDI note or a scale note (like the first note of the scale, 2nd note etc). Another alternative is using the chromatic scale, if you want to use every note.
Release version bought.
Cool, thanks @cem_olcay. Is it possible to do combos like c1, c2 etc?
Perfect! Got it.
If you find the midi note number you can assign it that way. So (according to MIDISpy) c1 is 24, c#2 is 37, etc..
