Yup I updated the first attempt at the post a few times in morning as everything updated (I had an alert set that went off and was very excited about it haha) In u.s it’s 14.99 instead of 24.99 . Did you get turnado ? I def got a bunch of stuff but not that yet but will probably do it 🙃 , it somehow feels better to space out the purchases and not do one after the other !

the one thing missing that adding now is unique for iPhone and iPad, iPhone is 1.99 instead of 4.99 and iPad 7.99 instead of $19.99

    @fearandloathing said:
Update: Turnado is $15 (original $25)

    I think it’s time

Finally sugarbytes sale!! Apps and unlocks are 50%+ off and up for Amarillo, factory and looperinator
Egoist is 50 percent off at 14.99 was 29.99
Effectrix 14.99 was $24.99 (same price as it would be in bundle but you don’t need every app to get the reduced price )
Bundle is removed at least temporarily
Wow filter box is $7.99 was $19.99
    Thesys 7.99 was 19.99
    Turnado $14.99 was $24.99
    Cyclop is $11.99 , was $24.99

Also all 3 apps from the effects bundle (wow, turnado and effectrix) added together on sale come to a little less than the bundle price, all 3 at sale price together are $37.99 and bundle was $45

    Definitely
I looked at other things like Bleass and what not for what Turnado does because $27 is too much for me; but I can do $16

I waited for something, and the description for Turnado is exactly what I want

I hope you can screw up vocals with it too
    Haven’t tried yet

  • Picked up Thesys...love it...

  • My only (bitter) regret about SB is I have them all already and cannot shove any more of them down my throat. Lovely food.

Exactly you can try them both then decide by July 4 what you like better. For each person it will be different based on their preferences and the music they make etc. both are great so but the good thing is they have great trials. So does looperator and drum
    computer.
Aparillo unlock also includes a lot more presets but otherwise it’s just mainly the ability to use for auv3 and save your own presets . You have unlimited use of several presets from each category in standalone though .
Anyway get whatever one you find yourself wishing you could use in auv3 more and if you do sound design, whichever you want to make and save presets in more and you can always get the other in dec . Both are amazing

I own pretty much all of the sugar bites apps. Does Wow filter do anything that I couldn’t do with the vast number of effects I already have?*

I reserve some criticisms for egoist. It has a huge number of presets, which I don’t use and can’t delete. I don’t really need to sacrifice that space.

I wish I could just buy read up and go to a blank template, instead of scrolling through 17 seven menus, etc. and too often hearing that annoying default preset.

You also can’t put slices exactly where you want them when you’re trying to slice of the beat. It lets you set 16 randomly, or based on sensitivity. If there’s a track that you want only five slices in, you can’t really do it in many cases.

With a few improvements, I think they could make it stellar, but as far as I can tell, it’s not been updated since it’s release which was many years ago.

I’m confused about “ but as far as I can tell, it’s not been updated since it’s release which was many years ago. ”

if you look in the App Store under “version history “ you can see how it’s been updated multiple times a year consistently since 8 years ago when it came out .

The most recent update was 2 months ago and then it was updated twice last year, three times 2 years ago four times 3 years ago , four times 4 years ago and so on, with many of the updates being significant changes.

I also can slice where I want and can start out on a default blank template from scratch when I open the app (in aum or another host) without scrolling presets.

it's the SB app I use the least (well, that and Unique synth). definitely non-essential and much simpler than their other offerings. If you do a lot of modulation of filters (for wobble or reese basses, etc - it's a bit like an element of their Cyclops synth can be added to other synths you own), maybe it makes sense but otherwise you can quickly set up an LFO onto one of your existing filter effects and get basically the same thing.

SB has a unique gift of combining randomness with musical usefulness, and unusual ways of generating ideas that is not always easy to find in apps from other developers to the same degree.

It’s not another version of the app it’s just the most recent update to the same app that it now works on iphone, too . You can look at the version history for more details but it’s listed in the recent update as now having iPhone support.

There is no extra charge for the update, so if you already own the app just find it in the App Store on your iPhone and download : )

  • I used to use the original WOW quite a lot way back and it definitely serves a purpose. Volcano is more comprehensive but sometimes you need quick and dirty. I own Aparillo and Factory and yes for both. Aparillo has a one-by-one preset import when you go to the User category in your preset (a Load label appears on top right) and Factory, it's a matter or moving your presets to the right directory. Doug has a video on that

Yeah I also think some egoist stuff is strange but you can manually slice wherever and 16 slices is the max…

How do you manually slice? I've tried tapping twice, like in Segments. That doesn't work for me. I've only been able to use the sensitivity slider, which doesn't give you control over the numbers slices (always) or the other options which alwas give you sixteen slices.

C'mon folks, instead of just telling me that you can do it even though I can't, please share your secret with this dummy.

*Edit: I just checked the manual again, and it doesn't appear to describe any ways of adding individual slices to a track, so I'm looking forward to learning this.
