Best qualitativ sounding Synth

  • Moog apps are great. I am typically using them and Spectrum for everything with some extra modulation from Drambo.

Yamaha Synth Book is an old one but can do some nice sounds.

This is very much not a question of quality but taste.

For me the best sounding synths on iOS are still the fantastic KORG emulations.
    Especially

    • PolySix
    • MonoPoly
    • ARP Odyssey

I would even say, this were the best synths of all time. And I would consider to purchase all these as real analog synths (clones) from Behringer.

I would take the iOS synths over most Behringer clones. However the TD-3’s are awesome and so cheap used.

  • So many, but Factory and FRMS are amazing.

A lot of this has to do with the preset/patch design...
...I'm still hooked on Poison-202 :sunglasses:

And I'm still hoping against hope that the Poison-202 developer will see a future for the app beyond iOS and will bring it to macOS.

It was available for macOS if I recall correctly…
    …it was a separate purchase.

It was never updated for recent versions of macOS and for the new chips in Macs (M1 or M2). As far as I know, it's still being sold as a non-compliant synth with a "buyer beware" warning on it.

Have you tried getting in touch with the developer about that?
With the current situation in Ukraine he might have other priorities at the moment...

  • iWavestation, iVCS3, Synclavier Go!, SunVox, SpaceCraft and Synthscaper sound the classiest out of what I have.

  • Teraverse too, nearly forgot

  • IMO Korg has best emulations on iOS then Moog then rest

No, I haven’t. I saw someone mention that “Jim Audio” (I don’t know the real name of the developer) was able to get out of the country and had set up shop elsewhere, but of course that is all secondhand information.

OdysseI is imo hands down the best iOS virtual analog.

Very close to real HW (had one). Extremely close. Another iOS synth which is so close to real HW is Arturia iSEM - actually i think this is best analog synth emulation Arturia ever made - it has really that satin character of original SEM module
