There's an issue with Ableton Live, as reported yesterday.
Currently Logic Pro X, MainStage 3 and GarageBand should work.

And if I am honest, it (x-auv3) was so f***n hard to get that running on Apple's flagships. I do really not want to run into a supporting nirvana, where each of the 3rd party apps requires a special version...
Half of the Apple Silicon cross-compiled AUv3s, that are OK on iOS, will not become validated on the macOS correctly or do not even work at all. So we recomment to have no illusions about that in general.^^

"We recommend to have no illusions about that in general" should be part of a starter kit of best-practice replies, distributed to devs joining the forum. What a gem of an answer! 🎖️

    Fair point. 👌

I would like to report easy to use JAX CHROMATIC on individual tracks like vocal or drums, in seconds it gives great timbre balance, set up and forget. Sound is clean (no distortion or kind of saturation), transparent but with bright presence, if needed. even used as filter it makes nice results for ears. it was great investment and no latemcy means live usage. Recomended for all as an easy-to-use great sounding multiband clean comp.

  • Just came in to say companders are fake. I’m not falling for that one again

    Haha 😂
“Just came in to say…”. I like how heavy of sense the “just” is in fact here. Was this necessary ?

Of course not, but sometimes it’s fun to spend a few seconds to amuse yourself. Can’t be afraid to make waves in this world, everybody else is splashin up a storm.

sometimes I feel it’s just a bit too present as an effect, hoping there will come a mixknob

@janpieter dont you think its because its easy to push „compressor” bands too much?
Sometimes I did this also, but knowing this now Im trying to find optimal settings, working in style: „little less is good enough”. We dont know If „mix” parameter will not bring phase diferences or other suprise, because there is a lot of bands and filters to sum.
But I dont know, ‚i have no knowladge in this kind of fx. If possible, Im open for mix knob, with hope the Gui will be still as much magiacal as is now hipnotizing. Good that we dont ask for separate outs for each band. 😂

I guess you are right :)

I revisited my opinion about possible „glitch” during fast changing band levels… this is no problem.
This unit is mostly for set and forget, not to automate parameters or play them live.
Maybe there is no need for additional work to add something like switch in gui to do „smoothing” parameters with larger CPU usage. We get it as it is now, IMO its good enough to do what its should do.

Its nice life when you accept such behaviours, when you can focus on bright side, when you support, appreciate dev work….this all forum is about hardware iPad / iPhone and apps - so developers are like creators, rest is like users. First is creator, user is next. There is so many apps, for many people. Different tastes. Im lucky to experience an change inside: I like more apps than previously, I have understanding strong and weak side, and this is normal. Like ing yang or left and right hand. Each do something other. Even If we have possibility to pressure developers to do exactly what we want…. It will be even worse. We can actually learn from their POV. cheers
