  • Personally I would like the option to toggle automatically returning to root when the maximum or minimum octave range is hit. I'd also add the option for ratcheting. Just my 2 cents.

    Big day for Bud apps...

    • Return home feature is ready for In Theory
    • PolyBud gets the draw mode
    • PatternBud gets random value generation
    • ShiftBud's MIDI CC ramping has fixed
    • ArpBud's got some UI fixes
    • BrainBud has released!

    Sweet thanks @cem_olcay !

I’d still argue a case to have return to home have an option to not sound the root when it returns. As you can do return to home, and hit +0 to do the same thing if you want the root to sound, but there’s no way to return to home/root silently as is. I’d add it as a toggle y/n in the settings.

The best I can do is exposing “return to home” as an AU param and you can trigger it externally. It won’t send MIDI, so it’d be silent.

Can you make it mappable for Drambo?

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for the update. I have to sheepishly admit, though…. I either can’t find the return to home function, or don’t know how to use it. given how few controls there are, this is, indeed, a testament to my ineptitude,. Help?

    That would be perfect!

C#4 plays middle root, D#4 plays root in the octave your in (obviously the 4 could be 3 depending on keyboard/device you're using because midi is a 'standard' :) )

This method of playing would be worth creating a custom hardware device/interface.. Like across between a Keytar and an Omnichord... Spandex pants would be extra.

    Ours would be better... ;)

Thanks for that. Is that in documentation for the app? I don't recall finding any docs at CO's web site. Or is it just info passed around in these esoteric fora? I used to think I was a good researcher, but lately not so much

I'll add the information to the Tutorial, it will be available with the next update, thanks for reminding.
The new AU params are ready, the new version will be live soon!

  • The update is live.

  • I saw those updates recently, especially polybud draw mode, pattern bud Rando, I even snapped some screenshots to share it somewhere in the forum but it slipped my mind. Cheers @cem_olcay just grabbed in theory, and I think BB is next. Just to confirm is that regular or into price on brain bud? Either way is fine, guess I was wondering how fast I should buy it. Thanks mate. Great video by @Jadestar too.

I’m thinking Bass Bud next, lol, a generative/semi-generative/sequencer or all 3, bass line midi generator. I know you could do that with some of your other apps but I feel like it would help round out the collection. It could have like an autony or pure acid type window of the bass notes but with all the bud features we know and low. Just a thought…

  • Ohhhhhhh a drum bud…!

Hey thanks for the info Cem. I grabbed I believe all of your midi apps over the last few days.* I have been enjoying them quite a bit, although only dipped my toes in so far.

I do have a question re MelodyBud, specifically this: if there is a reason that on the octave control panel, there are infinitely adjustable sliders, as opposed to controls with discrete stops?

*I've only purchased the entire output of one other prolific developer, the Ice Works guy. I realized recently that I have to be less impulsive in my buys, and probably have a moratorium for at least a few months, but I'm glad to have gotten yours on my devices before my discipline fully kicks in.

Oh thanks, I'm glad you like them! 🙏

I don't understand how there are infinitely adjustable sliders. In all modes, you can assign a specific value to a step with the slider. You can also randomise all steps with the knobs on the bottom right or you can randomise a specific step by pressing its number on the top of the slider.

  • Hello @cem_olcay,
I’m still experiencing frequent crashes of InTheory. Happens when left idle/open in AUM for extended periods of time. Multiple iPads, multiple gens/OS. Common denominator is just InTheory…

Is there some way you can enable logging or something so I can track this down, help you get stability better?
