  • I would love to see something like that.

  • Highly interested

  • I would love to see something like superior drummer for the IPad , especially an Auv3, I’ve been wait years for something like that, and with different electric drum mappings , specifically so it can be triggered from Roland Vdrums. The closest we have now imo is X Drummer by Positive Grid but it’s not Auv3. I’d like to see expansion kits via iap too. And separate outs for each kit piece if using it with AUM or other apps that support it. Modo is nice too, I’m guessing something like that would take up less room since it’s drum modeling vs samples? I have Modo and Superior Drummer on my Mac and trigger them with my Td17 kvx VDrums but I use Superior Drummer a lot more than Modo. But anyway yes please!!!’ Lol

  • I’d like to see one as well, though not sure how feasible it would be...
A single drum kit can take more space than the whole iPad capacity... has the AUv3 memory limit been lifted to allow multi gig libraries to be loaded reliably? I personally don’t need another half baked solution...

It'll use D2D so there's no ram problem. there's also no technical limitation identified for now.

  • For sure but would have to work smoothly. If it has all the ram issues that decent sampler has, for example, not so much.

  • Count me in..

  • Would love it. Haven't voted on a price, as it very much depends on what's being offered. A base product, including a well-sampled (Particularly snare, hats and cymbals) general-purpose kit would definitely be worth $50. Perhaps, from there, you could sell extra kits for $30 a pop?

  • I would definitely be interested too. I love Rock Drum Machine by Lumbeat, https://apps.apple.com/us/app/rock-drum-machine/id725234217
but would really prefer an auv3 solution and a way to use it as a sound module for other drum machines. As long as it doesn't eat up all the space on my already overstuffed iPad mini, I'm all in.

  • Would rather see the poll in more than one currency, particularly USD.

  • I would be very happy, if I had a toontrack like drum App! Very happy.

GarageBand already has excellent drum options. Just sayin’. Could they be improved? Sure, there’s always room for improvement.

  • An easy to use acoustic drums app is my number 1 dream on iPadOS.
I just still don't understand how midi and sync works in Lumbeat's apps and they drive me crazy ; DrumPerfect is a real pain to use, imho, so I've never really invested the time to "master" it.
My "best" solution from now is Audiolayer with multi-samples/multi-velocities and round robin kits from Drum-Drops and Cult Drum Sounds, but it's far (very far) from being ideal.
I would happily pay 50€ for a well thought and sounding acoustic drums app ! 🤞🏻🤩

  • The main thing we really lack on iOS is a multi-sampled, realistic Drumkit that is AUV3, easy to work with and can achieve a real feel. It would need to be multi-bus out too. The thing I’ve learned from the YouTube videos I make is that iOS music is dominated by people who make electronic music. There’s nothing wrong with that, I enjoy a dabble with electronica myself but, my speciality is obviously guitars and bass - anything with strings really. But my videos on that stuff do less well than something I’m not so hot at like the synthy stuff or AUM jams. But we’re getting some really good guitar stuff now and it’s only a matter of time before more people that want “real” instrument plugins come to iOS - we need the drums to help make this happen. Borsta by Klevgrand is the nearest thing we have - it’s really only percussion but it’s a step in the right direction. Of course, iOS pricing is a big issue but people like myself would rather pay a high price than have to constantly send projects to desktop to get decent drums and bring them back - I might as well just use my desktop in the first place.

There's a bit of a renaissance in guitar-centric music right now, so I think it's just a matter of time before the drum pendulum swings back.

Definitely. Probably just about the best on iOS. It would be great to have something as an AUv3 though to take GarageBand out of the equation if desired.

  • I've been using AudioLayer and Drambo for multi-layered acoustic drums and it's all I need.
The only time consuming part is picking the drum samples that I would like to have in each custom kit.
Not as convenient as a readymade app but imo the only way to end up with the drum sound you really want.

  • Hi,

Being a drummer, I would love this! Playability from edrums would be high on my list. Hh playability.
If its as good as superior drummer 2 I'd go to the 90 category.:-) Positional sensing.....wide dynamic range...etc.

Same here. I would love to be able to play a good app on my drums and get great sounds with great dynamics.

  • Yes. I’ve been wanting something like this forever. You can obviously build decent acoustic kits with samples, but even doing that your options are limited for multi velocity layers, with articulations, and various hits. Audiolayer is an obvious option, Digistix 2 is too but only has 5 velocity layers. There are some good IAA options but no real AUv3 deeply detailed acoustic drum apps.

Has to be Au, have a selection of real acoustic kits, multi-velocity layered, with articulations, etc… I can see an app like this easily getting very large in size, and probably creating a heavy cpu footprint. Which wouldn’t matter for some but would be an issue for my aging iPad 6. So I guess the trick would be maximizing the realness of the drums while keeping size and cpu at a minimum.

  • Maybe the DrumJam Pads AUv3 mentioned quite a while ago would fit the bill?

    @sonosaurus
Any update on the DrumJam pads app?

There’s a monumental void though between GarageBand drums and say, Superior Drummer, Groove Agent, Studio Drummer on desktop. That’s what I want. A proper acoustic drum app on iOS. Haven’t seen one yet.

Yeah the younger kids seem to be getting into it. I’ve got quite a few new pre-teen students who literally hate all the music that’s aimed at them. They want to play guitars and they like songs their parents like. It’s all messed up! I’m teaching Bon Jovi and Green Day, Metallica and Bryan Adams to little kids.

  • I second the drum compatibility, I hate how time consuming setting up samples in audio layer is.
If it had sound packs that were the same quality as the kontak kits I would easily pay 50 for for base program, and 20+ for extra kits. Multiple output is a must

  • It would be nice to have an AUv3 that cover MIDI E-Drum requirements... sets of IAP's for more kits might make it profitable for the vendor. Low cost to buy in with one kit and then $10-20 IAPs for more kits. I know I have dropped $100+ into apps that implement this model: iSymphonic, Korg Module Pro, BeatHawk, Roli Noise, Staffpad ($600+)...

  • Last week I recorded a drummer in my studio. I don’t normally do this because the studio is small. It is just made for me to work in, doing sessions, teaching and making YouTube demos. It was cramped but we got an electric kit in there. I then made it sound like a real kit with Native Instruments Studio Drummer. It came out amazing. Sadly, there just isn’t a good enough option to do this with my iPad. That didn’t matter of course, my desktop lives in the studio but it would’ve been so cool to be able to do this with my iPad in a bigger room!

  • Of course

but find the need for sequencing more than sound quality.

( Like that Richard Divine demo of app, soon )

  • If you want to make an app like in question.

Samples but mainly modelled app like Fac drum. Sub divisions ( the pie things )

    Host of auv3 effects.

Pattern launcher that looks like Drambos.

but it would be niche because it would be for me. Just using a seperate ipad just for drums.

Just seems the sequencing of that app were better than Drambo.

    So maybe best a host.
