    A direct port of FXpansion’s Geist (v1).

A direct port of MOTU’s original Performer (from circa ‘88).

And because those’ll likely never happen ports of Audiothing’s (currently desktop) drum machines would be cause for celebration. 😎

    +1 for Geist..

Yeah, it might be cool if KNOCK Clipper were ported to iOS and cheaper than KNOCK.

    One is on the way

  • My dream AUv3 accepts text or voice input and produces MIDI output for prompts like:

Create a song in the style of Stevie Wonder that doesn’t infringe on existing copyright from recorded content.

Create a slow movement in the style of Beethoven that a woman with small hands can play (no intervals larger than 1 octave). She taught herself Moonlight Sonata over a 6 month period and was shown how to mix the hands for 10ths so that can be allowed.

I think we’re probably 5 years away from such an App but it won’t be written by a solo developer and it will be on the desktop for 2-3 years before we get a 3rd rate version.

  • The replies so far either chose existing desktop apps they’d like to see AUv3 versions of
    OR
completely new plugins for iOS AUv3.

In that vein I’d like to see the Waves Abbey Road suite of plugs and maybe some Universal Audio classics.

The big hole in the AUv3’s available was a true pro level tuning app like Melodyne but since Audio Evolution released its Vocal Tune Pro there’s a good approximation available. What I’d dig is a Superior Drummer 3, Addictive Drums 2 type AU suite that would allow us to construct and program acoustic drum parts.

5 years for an app? I’ll bet that’s possible in 2 years.

But AUv3 is IOS and we always have to wait for someone to port over. Still, waiting for a lot of
    VST/AU’s from MacBooks.

A @brambos multi effect, unlimited slots, all of his effects built in, but also individual sections of his effects broken out to work on their own in slots in the chain.
Built in animated LFOS ala Fluss.

Let’s hope conjuring his handle 3 times works:
    @brambos
    @brambos
    @brambos

(If it worked, I’d like “Mozaic” standalone to connect to Core MIDI so I can use it outside a DAW).
But no matter what he makes or updates, I’m getting it.

OK, not my dream AUv3, but a real nerd's playground would be a Python interpreter in an AUv3, complete with support for MIDI libraries and for things like audio file playback. It would need extensions to integrate with the host for things like transport and tempo sync.

  • Aalto and Kaivo from Madrona Labs.

  • The functionality of a volca drum.

Dont even use the volca drum but from memory.

Seems Id need Fac drum graphs to be midi mappable. Obviously there can only be about 127cc so if you run out. You run out.

Some kind of Drambo module that will make sequencing of auv3 like Beat Scholar. Maybe when that app arrives Id just forget about real time synthesis and just use samples.

I even like the volcas wave guide resonator and hyper delay. To be a send effect.

I think its where im lazy but ios drums always seems like a comprimise. Sometimes its ok but always just throw my ipad in a mood, when making drums. For some reason.

Tbh. I listened to some volca drum patches made and they arnt even good.

But still trying to work out. What I like and dont like about drums.

    Still.

  • I cant work out if its just the unfortunate way all different apps, need a sequencer. If you choose it to be the hosts. Then not work as needed in host. Then if host sequencing is even that good. If computing makes sequencing worse because of a mathematical formula.

This is with an ipad just for drums. So a mix and match of all the best drum apps as auv3 tracks. In the best host.

Tomoz I will finally decide on my results.

  • As many Desktop ports and virtual replications of original hardware as possibe.

  • Desktop ports which aren't hobbled by things like lack of drag and drop or other interface issues due to not being designed for touch screen, ahem...

  • Nord Lead 2 as AUv3 , that’s all i need 🤣

That's what Madrona were saying a few years ago hehe

I kinda have to agree here and I'd also love to see the Nord Micro Modular as an AUv3.
With modern CPUs the polyphony could be increased quite a bit.

There's something 'unique' about the Nord VA sound and it's NOT related to the DA converters but the math behind it all...

Hahaha, the 50 TB edition with 1 TB of RAM... Yeah, nice! Should be able to run about a million instances simultaneously.

... that would be my dream AUv3. In terms of Python libraries I would definitely want Mididings and an OSC library so that TouchOSC or a similar app can be used to create interactive GUIs. And while we are at it: Let's add a built-in web server and Jupyter notebook support so that the editing can be done comfortably in a Browser - even on a desktop.

    Results complete.

I decided to not use Fac Drum.

    But Drum computer.

An insance per track. As im using an ipad just for drums.

    But it just crashes.

In Drambo. It sometimes comes up with the screen ( to use app as an auv3 ) When launching app. Although you have restored purchase ( Deleted app etc ) and restored purchase.

These is probably what crashes all instances.

    Obviously not a bug thread.

Just showing how much of a nighmare the drum situation on ipad is for me.

And I only be harsh because iv been trying to sort a drum machine since 2019.

I need to synthesise drums and automate in Drambo.

Seems this drum app is the only thing which might have functionality of a volca drum ( with Drambo )

I would just use Fac drum but it isnt a parmeter app.

    Can anyone see my point?

Or is it because I dont know how to setup drum apps?

Also should be able to use 7 instance of Drum computer on a dedicated ipad?

Noticed the dsp in aum for drum computer is lower now.

    This !

I mean seriously, a Nord Modular G1 paired with old Atari ST and a touch of reverb...

(There's a bunch of other demos with the same setup on his channel).

But I have to say I'm slowly falling for the overall sound of Twin 3...
...paired with Pro-R. Simple clean and full of 'mojo' :sunglasses:
