I’d like to “port” a lot of my iPad music over to desktop/Ableton, but I don’t have any of the same synths on either platform, so I’m seriously looking at buying Synplant to help quickly approximate many of my iPad synth sounds and save a ton of programming time — (Mostly subtractive or FM sounds, nothing too complex) … Do you think it would be pretty decent for that? I’m using an M1 Pro MBP, so hopefully it’ll handle 5-6 plugin instances per song.
I just watched some of Red Means Recording’s Synplant 2 videos and was very impressed by the sound — so I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of it in general.
It’s extremely clever and for many sounds it can pretty much reproduce what you fed it.
For me, its awesomeness is more about when it gets it ‘wrong’ and you get a whole new sound. Or when the intermediate steps are inspiring sounds.
But I realise you are after something different.
I installed the demo but didn’t end up buying it (I might still get it, maybe if it goes on sale). It definitely produces some good mistakes in getting to a sound, and they’re probably just as usable as the copied sound, if not more so.
Same. Got the demo, and really liked it. Hooked up the Kentaro Cluster LFO to a bunch of random params and it produced some very unpredictable and very pleasing sounds.
Like @michael_m , I'm hoping for a sale at some point, and then I'll definitely buy it
Sonic Charge don't do sales.
Now that you say that I do recall Frederik confirming that once.
Oh well, maybe I’ll still get.
You can get a discount if you buy more than one plugin at once. And they are generous senough to let you get the discount on the more expensive one so if you buy, Bitspeak for example for €33 you’ll get Synplant for €119.20 (from 149) so effectively get Bitspeak for only an extra €3.
I finally got it today after dwelling since Christmas when I usually buy meself something extra (yes I live alone 😂 ) Gonna be some hard weeks ahead but hopefully there's no app coming I can't resist. It's not easy, being an appaholic, is it..
Going to try with some sounds I made from scratch and then passed and edited in Koala. I might do a sample pack but it feels one needs to be somewhat organised for that to be attractive to the public, and I am chaos.
