Do any of Gadget auv3 module bring something new to the table that is not already covered by existing auv3 ?

They all have their own thing going on and imo, are all really great and unique in their own ways. And they were around before any of the AUV3s out right now so they’re not really trying to bring something new to the table, just porting what they already have. So best to take that at face value and see what you need and if you need them.

Yes. Stockholm is the only REX loop player and re-arranger on iOS.
Then you have various drum and effect modules with their own set of quite usable sounds.
Also, Marseille isn't too bad as a small generic sound module to start with when composing.
The best synths have yet to be added as AUv3s though.

Marseille is my go-to in Gadget for starting a new track. And now it's my go-to in NS2. Can't believe I can actually state that as fact. Korg did an amazing job with the new Gadget 3 update!

Yeah, this update is really great. Gadget was already a staple in my live applications and loops. Now I can use the excellent Marseille stock sounds, Dr Octo Rex, Triton presets, Helsinki, and all my favorite patches.

Seonn, my dude! Great to hear from you mate. :) And sounds like an excellent set up to me.

  • Do I need this if I’m a traditional tracker and have Cubasis 3?

If you have Gadget already and want the AUv3s, I'd say redownload it! If not, then it may or may not be worth your time. I've invested a lot into Gadget over the years and have everything Korg have released that's compatible with Gadget, from external compatible synth apps, to all IAPs within Gadget. Including Santa Ana and Sydney. May not be everyone's cuppa though.

After coming off a month-long experience with my OP-1 Field, I feel right at home with these simple synths as AUv3 now. Your mileage may vary and other staple catchphrases. 🤣

The drums are they just sound Library or do they have midi beats or a player garage band style ?

    Sounds only.
I'm often using live drum loops in Stockholm and add drum/percussion hits from these on top where I want them.

Download the free lite version and see if you like it.

They're just sample players. In Gadget itself there's a kind of nice note repeat tool, but that doesn't carry through to the AUv3 plugins. Gadget doesn't come with an intelligent drummer or any midi beats.

installed gadget again (probably after 3 years) .. and i must admit i LOVE it .. i remember i was not ok with it's sequencer, but problably because of my recent 2-3 years of experience with grooveboxes / pattern oriented approach, i love it now :-) It's really streamlined perfect environment where i am instantly in creative flow ..

thanks for this update, it dragged me back to Gadget for some time probably :)

  • It was exciting to see all those Korg AUv3s appear in my library. I have been warming to Gadget lately. I had Drambo 1st before I bought Gadget and found the Gadget sequencer a bit limited at first but I was underestimating it, it has a few nice touches that make getting stuff done fun. Looking forward to their heavy hitter synths getting the same AUv3 treatment though.

  • Just bought Gadget 3. I had tried the lite version before and wasn’t very impressed. Figured it’s about 12 new AU synths for about $2 each so can’t really go too wrong.

Watched some tutorials on the app and after a couple hours with it I see why so many people like it. I really want to love Drambo which has a very similar clip model but there’s something about Drambo’s UI that doesn’t click for me. Gadget is a bit clunky here and there but it’s much easier to navigate than Drambo.

I’m going to have a lot of fun with Gadget 3!

  • Yeah, Gadget makes composition and arrangement really easy to manage. Nanostudio is close but the sort of linear nonlinear of Gadget helps me break down my composition more easily

  • Amazing. Are IAP Gadgets currently discounted?

  • It just got an update to Korg Gadget 3 and man oh man it’s worth it. Also the apps are on sale currently (all KORG apps 50% discount). Cheers.
