Hi @jwmmakerofmusic for all your advices. I got AUM and Audioshare.

    Excellent!

I bought when it was release Rymdigare so got it but not in my minimal setup so need to use it more. but on my testing folder. Very good dev and from anotherworld thanks to remind me to use it both on Cubasis and AUM. This is this kind of app that make iOS music very more advanced than desktop one.

Exactly! See, from my point of view, using a desktop setup was very constricting. I used it for years before doing iOS/Desktop hybrid in the mid 2010s and eventually 100% iOS in 2019.

I follow your advice and I study now Velvet and the 2 free apps.

Excellent. You won't regret it mate. :)

You need really to have a look at Fluss the new granular app collaboration of Bram Bros ( very good dev team) and hainbach as you seem like me to be fan of hainbach and his approach to the root of experimental.

Oh I have Fluss and used it once before to produce the background soundscape for my "Lounging in Another World" EP. :)

(I set all my stuff there to free unlimited online streaming, so please do enjoy. :) )

Will give you my feedback on each apps you advise me

Sounds good mate. :) I'm looking forward to it.

Hi rvr this is a too personal question , better to stay focused on music talk

I agree. Keep the public posts focused to music.

Then again mate, if you ever need a person to talk to who will listen, you can always private message me. I'm always here to help. :)

Hi again @jwmmakerofmusic I valid Baby audio apps you advise it is really an incredible deal for free and very solid apps do the job perfectly. Since the beginning I follow the dev of Baby Audio as there are among the best dev and I bought their top app and you cannot be wrong with Baby Audio.

Exactly! Baby Audio is one of the top quality devs. :)

Wonderful app that I use from Baby Audio and is far more than unique (far more than a reverb ) is Crystalline, is it a tool that even professional producers are happy to use. Pricey but worth any penny.

    https://apps.apple.com/be/app/crystalline-baby-audio/id1609936795

Oh I've had that since it first released in the middle of last year. Just a sublime reverb! It's far more than your typical shimmer reverb. :)

Velvet is very good , thanks for it and for @sonosaurus app it do a great job for ambient style.

Excellent! I'm glad you like them mate. :) Oh man, I'm becoming very inspired to craft some Ambient, lol.

And I love your hardware setup too that fits into your backpack. :) Very amazing! My setup is just my 12.9" M1 iPad Pro. It's all I need. I can manipulate controls just by touching the screen. ;)

Hi @BerlinFx , glad to have you on board. There’s a huge amount of experience and talent among the members here, and like others have said, no such thing as a silly question. @jwmmakerofmusic ’s app recommendations are spot on. I can recommend MiRack as long as it fits how you want to work. I love it, others hate working with modular synths. The nice thing about iOS is that there’s a tool set to suit everyone, pretty much. And it tends to be reasonably cheap to find out what works for you and what doesn’t.

Yeah, miRack is definitely the modular-synth-lover's modular synth. Definitely not for me as I've tried it and it just didn't click with me (even though I know how to build patches). It's like I need to read a textbook just to figure out what some of the mystery modules actually do. (I'm more of a semi-modular kind of guy.)

  • Welcome, just like the korg Gadget “Berlin” cheers!

  • Thanks for your welcome @Poppadocrock , Berlin for me is more related to the city itself vibes but nice to that could be the Berlin Korg Gadget.

  • Hi @jwmmakerofmusic , like a lot your EP Lounging in Another World , how you use Fluss and also incorporate saxo in some part.

I suppose than in your set up you got Headphones ? Which type ?

I use DT770 since I am 18 years old and add a small summer job in a great recording studio. 2 of the sound engineers are till friends and help me sometimes with good advices about mastering and mixing.

I learnt a lot in this studio fully analog including that I will never been a good sound engineer this is why I choose to become a Dev.

Thanks mate. :) Yep, the "Lounging" EP is still my favourite of the EPs I've produced up to this point. Just a nice relaxing atmosphere, but also otherworldly.

I sure do. I use Beats Solo 3 headphones. They have a great battery life and only need charing 1-2 times per week. They just work.

Ah those are a lovely pair of wired headphones. :)

Ah, me I am naturally talented at writing music, but it took me several years (like over a decade) to become decent at mixing and mastering if I'm being at all honest. 😅 I used to put on too many effects plugins, overdo the EQ, etc. Now I mix into a limiter, and I find myself needing far less effects plugins unless I'm aiming for a specific sound quality.

  • Hi there @BerlinFx ! Look forward to seeing /hearing you around!
    :)

  • Hi @jwmmakerofmusic first some feedback on one apps you tell me was good and is wonderful, thanks for that , it is Velvet. Easy and efficient, I’m am creating wonderful new versions of old tracks with it.

Need to tell you later feedback on the other 2 apps

    Thanks a lot

Now @jwmmakerofmusic my feedback on Baby Audio free PitchDrift, I test it on different instruments and I love it , easy , quick, no learning step you close your eyes and your eras guide you to new ideas.

Thanks again for telling me about this wonderful app added in my essential toolbox.

  • Hey @BerlinFx,
    Welcome to this forum :).

After reading your posts my inner sceptic is asking over and over again:
Are you human? 🤔😬 - can't tell you exactly why, but somehow it's a strange feeling of inconsistency.

Could of course just be me and/or due to the language 😅😉.

  • i'm sorry dave...

  • @BerlinFx I'm so glad you're enjoying the apps! ☺️ They really are special in what they do. Can't go wrong with free apps that work super well, and Pitch Drift is amazing.

Velvet Machine is otherworldly in all the right ways.

Hi thanks for the welcome. I am human for sure …English is not my mother tongue and I do typing errors , perhaps I should ask Chatgpt to write for me….lol

  • I've developed a deep fascination for looking back at the very beginning every time a journey has ended. So here we are.
He will probably miss this forum real bad. Should have taken that advice for taking a break.

But comments from others about popcorn grabbing and other ways to add fuel was also something we could have done without. Although at that stage he may have been too far gone.

Perhaps mods could temporarily suspend a guy in similar situations, before spiraling too far out of control. Sort of a cooldown timer kind of thing.

Yes, this would be nice … It’s easy to go rage and then after a while regret what has been said and cannot be unsaid

I still think he was (is) good guy, just went out of control after taking too much seriously shit written by other users - which can happen to every of us in certain life conditions, so don’t judge.

Temporary ban often helps calm down.

I wrote on the one of last threads that went sour, advising him to take a few days off and get some distance. I erased it. Somehow felt like too personal but public at the same time, all for a guy I’ve never even met. Its complicated because they hurt themselves but in the process make it very uncomfortable for everyone else.

  • I’ve noticed that some people seem to go out of their way to antagonize people in their replies and attack the person rather than respond by expressing disagreement in a less personal way.

It should be possible to express disagreement with someone without getting personal….even if the person you are responding to is out of line.

My mom used to say: “if someone is a jerk to you, don’t be a jerk in return.”

We can all inadvertently be jerks, but it seems that sometimes people reply with the intention of causing a meltdown.

You never know what someone is going through. Sometimes making an extra effort to be respectful in disagreement (or choosing not to voice disagreement when someone seems like they are losing it) can help someone out.

  • dang, this dude only recently shared his music with me. i had been lurking for sometime but he did seem to go towards certain tangents, and take offense perhaps,.but maybe it was cultural/language miscommunication. but i think he posted that Give me MoneyBack Post and seemed pointlessly further aggressive the more ppl told him to chill. tried to distract him by daring to ask, Do you even make music? or just recommend it to some "top DJ"??. and he shared it, n was cool, thought that was the end of it n maybe he could even use a friend, but dude if you're out there still reading this. idk what happened else recently, but Keep making music.

  • I feel bad for this guy - he got in too deep emotionally and let his buttons get pushed. Not fun for me to witness.

  • it's hard times for many ppl on earth, and only getting harder, with little hope for Real Living. not an excuse. but i am mostly homeless, in a southern state of a certain country, and daily want to explode in...many negative feelings. and many ppl i talk to, doing better than i, say, it's only cause they have a partner and it's Still hard, and getting harder... anyway, at least we have Music to explore and knowledge to share with each other

  • If you should join a discussion forum like this, international forum with people from lots of countries, lots of different temperaments, and, lots of different experiences, you should not be too sensitive and mentally weak…

Otherwise, seek another type of communication channel for your hobby…

  • edited July 2023

He'll probably rejoin under a different name and hopefully be less negative about everything.

All he did on the Forum was knock apps and developers. Not a good thing to do on a forum generously run by a developer...

I find this attitude a little callous. I don't understand the difficulty in not being mean to someone...even if you don't like their attitude or what they have to say.

Sure, misunderstandings can happen and are unavoidable...but sometimes people choose to continue being hostile even after becoming aware that the communication has gone sour.
