  • I’m more excited for the sale on Knock but this looks cool. I love clipped audio for experimental noisy stuff.

  • Knock is absolutely phenomenal - personally I would skip the clipper entirely and just get knock if you don't have it

  • Prediction. $28.99 for Knock.

It’s on the top of my effects list to buy. It seems fantastic.

  • So if I’m thinking correctly, this is one part of the larger KNOCK app?

Cool! I’ve been wanting to try knock. Just not sure if I should buy this since I’m planning on getting the full app in a couple weeks. Still cool that it’s there though. Have you tried either one?

  • Just buy knock!

  • 8 bucks for clipper vs 20 for knock, I would definitely just go for knock. I kind of can't help wondering if that was the whole marketing plan all along. But... At least they didn't release clip first. Hats off to that move.

Anyway, Knock is really fantastic,I highly recommend it, and for much more than just drums, but I'm not sure I'd pay 8 bucks for a hard / soft clip app.

Yeah, I’ve been using KNOCK for almost everything I want to “jump out”!

Seriously? Are we so deep into hyperbole now on the forum? Great product news by the way, but come on, have some decency, mate. 😀

That's exactly my point. You actually don't need to quote the dev's most outrageous self-promotion with zero critical thinking, you know 😎👍

I am guessing he hasn't got time to rewrite the developer's advertising copy to a more balanced text.

No big deal - I am grateful ninobeatz posted this info here for us.

BTW: did you know things go better with Coke?

Does the full knock add latency?

  • Why we gotta knock others. Just bang.

  • Not that I noticed, but not by my ipad now so I can't check. > @ohwell said:

No latency, but it does a momentary spike to CPU on loading. Could be just my iPad, I have an M1. I typically load KNOCK on almost every track and it doesn’t blow up 😂

  • Thank you!

Definitely seems like the right choice. Though I guess if you just want one section of it for some reason, Clipper might be fine. How is Knock compared to something like Beef for adding umph to stuff?

Knock is more focused on just a few different things, so it gets you there very quickly and is almost idiot-proof. Beef has more going on, so it takes more tweaking to get a similar result. But I emphasize that it can be very close.

My personal sonic tastes...I like Beef better. Both Knock and Beef do similar things, but the only advantage Knock has is its ability to add a subbass. Beef has some advantages including the choice of various saturation types and an EQ section.

The couple rappers I know seemed to respond more to my beats with drums coloured with Beef more than Knock. @CaelumAudio knows their shit. 😂

Right on. In that case maybe I don’t actually need it. Beef is my usual go-to for, well, BEEFing things up. And it’s done right by me so far. Not sure I can justify $20 on something when I already have an app that can get that close. And personally, I like the tweaking and being able to dial in precisely what I want.

You ain’t lying! One of the best devs out there and one of the few that I own every single app from. Think I may have to pass on this one for now. There are other apps I could spare that $20 on atm since it seems like Beef can do what I want already. Thanks as always 🤝

Of course mate. :) I'm not knocking Knock by any means, but let's just say I bought it so you don't have to. 😂🤣
