Nothing can ever top Martha And The Muffins.

It helps that they also wrote one of the best New Wave songs ever. Both women in the band were called Martha :)

  • Peter and the test tube babies!

  • !!!
    Gorkys Zygotic Mynci
    Half Man Half Biscuit

    To name a few....

  • Seen a couple of hardcore punk posters around in the past... ‘bleeding rectum’ and ‘dog vomit’ on at one venue I seem to recall... early 90s N.Ireland!!

Half Man Half Biscuit was an inspired one. Their song titles were also incredible (and the songs were hilarious).

  • “Man or Astroman?”

  • Horny Man & Panty Man

  • DJ Bagofdonuts

  • Only seen The Bays. A drum and bass etc band.

And Lucky Jim. At some comedy theatre.

  • Rubber Yahoo

  • Fish Turned Human.

  • Frozen Vomit

  • The Sheep Are Nervous, and Robots in Disguise, legit great band that a mate was in

  • Deep Sea Thunderbeast
    Supersonicdragonwagon

Both 2 pretty awesome local San Diego bands I ran sound for many times years ago.

@Krupa I always though Robots in Diguise was a great name and fantastic music

Back in the 1970's I had a single by "The Snivelling Shits".

  • When I was at college there was a support band I saw once called ‘The Funkin Bar Stewards’.

Another one at a local pub in the 90s was called ‘The Mighty Snorting Powder Rangers’.

  • Lubricated Goat were a thing in the late 80s in Australia.

    Here it is:

One of the Shits went to become Arthur Comix (did the wonderful "Is God A Man?").

  • A few oldies that come to mind.

    • Free Beer (good for posters... until the rioting?)
    • Sisters of Morrissey (all female smiths cover band)
    • Old and In the Way (Grateful Dead offshoot. Never liked them but loved the honesty/lightness of the name)
    • Fugazi (because it doesn't mean/invoke anything at all... except the band)
    • ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead (because, awesome)
  • King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

  • Fruit Eating Bears.

I was just about to write about them. Love them.

But I have another great band:
    Pissed Jeans

  • I thought Rat Salad was pretty cool.

  • I used to hang out with some dudes who were called TEPDSOL - The Ever Present Dark Side Of Life.

    Brilliant.

I love that The Sisters Of Mercy’s label is Merciful Release.
