Zeeon was crashing, but a fix is in. Unrelatedly, my other 2 new grabs are smirchless fun
Boy I sure spent a lot this last week. Two new highly anticipated synths and one old classic. Financial suffering I expected, but crash pain?
an old workhorse I'd been wanting. Zeeon... is crashing and opening an empty AU window in ApeMatrix and also AUM. Damn it. I should have checked the forums... Trusted developer, mature synth, all that, I didn't expect this. Is it stable? I'm a couple of .1s behind on my OS, though that probably isn't it...
Comments
Also, Zeeon standalone is odd. It appears to load in AU form in it's own dedicated host. And it says that banks can be purchased in the standalone version, but that's what I'm running. What's going on.
iPad Model and iOS version?
4th generation iPad pro
iPadOS 16.1.1
I should checked the forums before buying, but addiction scoffs at cautious measures.
I plan on brining the iOs up to date, it's just kind of a hassle to do it where I do the music stuff, for internet related reasons.
I have never yet returned an app, but Zeeon might have to go back if it keeps this up. I had no business buying that much anyway. Is there any rule of thumb regarding how soon you have to request a refund?
90 days if i recall correctly. But try, you will know.
It's strange, never had any problem with Zeon and my iPad is slower than yours.
I just loaded Zeon in AUM. Have never had a problem. Maybe try deleting and reinstalling?
That is odd. I've got a mini that is more recent than the pro, I'm going to install on that later, to see if I have the same problem/
Did you do a shut down and restart of your iPad first?
Zeeon is reliable for me -- iPad 6 and I have run it on OS's from 11.1 up to the current 16.4.1. Btw, iPadOS is up to 16.4.1. It is possible that you are running into some sort of OS bug that has been fixed -- or maybe it did not install correctly.
Have you powered your iPad down and relaunched? If you haven't try that. If that doesn't work, delete and re-install. You might also want to update your OS -- since you are already on iOS 16.
Re refunds: it depends on what country you are in. In the U.S. it might be 2 weeks.
Have you tried tapping the Shop button when you are launched in Standalone? Don't be confused by the message in the banks menu about opening in standalone. When you are in standalone that message is there AND there is a SHOP button that shows the available 3 banks.
I don't want to sound overly pedantic @gravytop .. but could you possibly change the title of your thread so it's clear that Zeeon is the crashing app. Currently, you are besmirching both the lovely HILDA and creamy ButterSynth by association.
My humble suggestion...
Bram & Butter... but Zeeon crashing
I agree with that , after over 20 hours on Hilda trying all possible combinations no crashes at all and and the same for Butter.
Seconded.
Hmm not sure. I was actually just using Zeeon for quite a while a night or 2 ago and didn’t have a single issue. To clarify, you’re only having problems with Zeeon right? The title is confusing.
That said, all 3 are working fine for me.
I used Zeeon 1 week time and no crashes at all. I think that it is nort fear for an apps to title « app x crashes » as it can be because your iPad or your os. Crashes usually is more personal experience.
So it is better if you go this problem title a post « do you have crashes problems with Zeeon ? »
And after you explain what happen to you and if someone can help you »
Same problem here…cannot use zeeon anymore in AUM
Zeeon is working fine here in AUM and Zenbeats, iPad Air 4, iPadOS 16.4.1(a).
/DMfan🇸🇪
I got me too iPad Air 4, iPadOS 16.4.1(a), no problem on AUM
Zeeon working flawlessly here too.

If Zeeon crashes then there should be a crash report under Settings > Privacy > Analytics.
Please share that with
Thanks, crash report sent
Working perfectly on iPad Pro M1 11” iOS 16.1
Updating to iOS 16.4.1 atm, will check again on latest is update
*update all sweet on 16.4.1 (a)
@cuscolima, @gravytop
If Zeeon still crashes in your setup, could you please try smaller audio buffer sizes (1024, 512) and check if that fixes the problem? Thanks!
Beepstreet just gave me the same answer and yes, it did solve the issue. My buffer was too big
what buffer size are you using?
Did you try tapping on the Shop button when in Standalone?
FYI, a fix for Zeeon is on the way. Crashes should not happen with large buffer sizes.
Ah, that’s interesting. Good to know it's not a fatal flaw because I was digging the sounds on that one.
Thanks for the info about the buffer. I'll see of adjusting it does the trick. As for the shop button, that's the other odd thing. In standalone, Zeeon is behaving like it's an AU in a dedicated host.
It displays "loading au" for a while before fully launching, and as seen in this picture, directs me to "the standalone app" for shop access... but that's where I already am.
Look at the keyboard. There is a Shop button there on the right. Click on it.
@gravytop What happens if you tap on the "Shop" text above the keyboard on the right?
