@Supadom hails from Siberia, or thereabouts, hence his tendency to stir things up a bit. But radiation, aliens, meteors and mucho vodka can have this confused effect on some people. Don't jump on him.
Fair point that Korg can take it (and I'm no corporate apologist) but it may or not be worthwhile to remember that more than likely a person, like an actual person, or maybe three, slaved away creating Gadget. "Korg" the corporation isn't going to read a post here but the person who ignored their significant other for 6 months might.
Again, I have no skin in Korg's game (don't even own Gadget) and I'm all for criticism. This isn't Ford or Apple though - you can be pretty sure that for any of these apps, even 'big brand' apps, it's a tiny tiny development team. Rim, Michael, Sebastian, Adil, Matt, Jonatan, Chris, Rolf... How hard would most of us crumble if someone bought our CD and said some of the shit people say about apps about our music?
Free speech, hurray. I'm just saying.
I'm almost as addicted to '+1ing' Syrupcore posts as I am at buying apps.
Ok, I'm not entirely sure if this refers to my 'gadget the pro-Sumer item' comment but...when you put stuff out there whether it is as a musician or a developer you should get ready for being as much praised as criticized. A good mix of comments from both left and right can be formative. There's nothing hugely negative about something being called prosumer. It's like comparing a Neumann mic to a behringer. The Korg developers themselves will know exactly what I'm Talking about because it is exactly them who know how many corners they had to cut to make this thing fly on this platform. 1gb ram, just think about it.
If Berlin or Belfast sound as good to you as ims 20 or even ms20 then it's cool. Make the music and that's the most important thing. One thing i don't understand when people wear kids gloves all the time in order not to offend the developers. Those guys need feedback. If the bread in your local bakery gets rough you best go and tell them or it will be even rougher the following year. This is called constructive criticism. There is such thing as respect for the makers of things but there is also a thing called personal opinion and if this thing is called forum it should take both ends of the story PC or not.
My last comment was a sort of mash-up reply to "they're Korg, they can take it" and the general vibe of parts of this, the animoog thread and a few other threads floating around lately.
Totally agree that it takes a village.
@JohnnyGoodyear: you buy the Ice Cream at the Train depot and a ticket for Barton Springs and it's a deal (except I work Saturday). :-(
@NoiseHorse said:
It was over 100 the other day and Barton was still too cold for me hahahaha
@NoiseHorse I'll stand you a gelato at Dolce Neve on 1st (or even one of their sorbets made with Gala apples from Bat Creek Farm which are ridiculously good), but you can buy your own ticket (only three bucks after all) to Barton Springs on the day we decide to throw @CalCutta in (and field record the results).
I'll pay some militant hippy out there to protect me.
3 bucks is serious app money where I come from! Apps don't grow on trees. We've hijacked this thread to Zilker Park, apologies to all the non-Texas folks...
Can't lie. Im a bit let down that Korg leaked they would release an update in August and didn't do it.
I'm going to hope/guess they found some bugs they are fixing and it will be out soon.
Aww cheer up Malph, they may have already released it. Apple gets the final say and not Korg as far as it goes with updates.
Always the push you-pull me aint it in almost any operation: Manufacturing vs. Marketing? And Lord knows we're on folks quick enough when they release with shoddy beta-testing, so let's hold our fire until they're late AND it's not ready for prime time. I'm optimistic; it's a happy weakness of mine.

They said they were shooting for an August release. They didn't promise anything by a certain date.
Korg's main Twitter account (@korg_inc) tweeted in Japanese about a week ago regarding the release of an app called iKaossilator Unicorn for iPhone and mentioned that they were now focusing all development toward the Gadget update.
@PHᐃNTᐃSM said:
Actually it was an announcement about the end of support for iKaossilator Unicorn for iPhone released back in 2012. Only available in Japan.

I've got tired of refreshing
The thread's title is "Korg Gadget rumor"- based on that, anything goes...
Erm, so what were they focusing their dev capability on before, cutting support for the Unicorn app? :-D
Why can't they communicate properly what's going on? It's like they don't even have a pr department.
Out now.
