Holy fucking Batman. That came out of nowhere. Many many thanks for IAA support!!
Yeah -- IAA support is great news!
IAA generator only - which killed my initial excitement about the news
Just for everyone's reference, any app that integrates the latest Audiobus SDK gets IAA support for free as a generator (or effect if desired). Being an IAA instrument needs a little work to handle the midi events, and being an IAA host is still more work. So it sounds like they just integrated AB2.1 and stopped there. The step to be an instrument is the obvious thing they missed and is easy to do... I suggest giving them feedback!
I did update my five star iTunes review for Thor and I mention in it that I was hoping for an IAA instrument so I could control it from other apps. I saw Kalle Paulsson tweeting some ridiculously unreasonable iTunes reviews for Figure so hopefully he reads also the positive ones for Thor.

so any app with the latest Audiobus SDK can be an effect? that would be very intriguing.
I update Thor but IAA does not work
generator works fine
Not for me, I am using iPad Air
in Cubasis it's ok iPad Air
Not working at all for me
Works fine on my retina mini.
djjuniorpoos - are you selecting it as a source for an audio track? As noted above it only functions as a generator so you need to create a separate MIDI track and route the MIDI output to Thor if you want to sequence it from Cubasis.
I'm pleased with the update, but the tempo delay still glitches if Cubasis is sending MIDI clock. You can switch off clock send in Cubasis, but then you lose the ability to start and stop the sequencer when you start / stop Cubasis.
Hi,
(Apologies, i'm generally a lurker on the forum)...
I can't get it work either. Trying to add Thor as a source for an audio track in Cubasis but it simply doesn't show up. I'm sure i've updated Thor correctly (it's saying v1.1.)
[Interestingly Figure does show up as a possible audio source - but then won't launch irrespective of how many times I quit it and try again. Is Figure IAA too now?].
Any directions on what i'm doing wrong appreciated. Cubasis up to date, iPad Air, latest iOS etc...
I'd suggest trying to open Thor on its own first and then see if it will open through Cubasis via-IAA. If that doesn't work, delete it off your iPad and redownload.
Thanks. Nope. Re-installing.
Also, has anyone tried a different host than Cubasis? If not, I'd say try that (I'm at work and can't t-shoot for a couple hours)
I've tried in Tabletops Zignal. It works, it recorded nicely but there is no IAA interface within Thor. Or maybe I just couldn't find it.
It's only a Generator, IAA Generators will send tone only to a host, no other data.
I just tried Auria. No transport controls via IAA, but it does record if you start the record in Auria and switch over. Not ideal, but it does seem to work (kinda).
Mmm. Doesn't work in Cubasis for me despite re-installing Thor. Fairly sure i'm not doing anything silly.
Not showing up in Beatmaker2 either.
Forgotten how to add a IAA app in Auria .
Cubasis
if I go Media>Instruments>Inter-App it does not show
if I go to the left hand menu>Routing> press where it says Mono input and chose Inter-App from there - Thor Output is on the menu
firegan82 - selecting via media ... only works for instruments, as it creates a sort of combined audio/MIDI track, MIDI can be programmed and freezing the track captures the audio.
I just tried it in impc pro and it sampled fine, but again, no transport controls or way of switching back to the host from inside thor.
I have tried all options and it just does not show up, I tried Auria, GarageBand ,AudioShare and Cubasis. Didn't work.
I appreciate that explanation @xen. It's good to know. But I posted that also because I thought maybe @Matt_Fletcher_2000 and @djjuniorpops where going the media>intrument way and didn't try the other.
Here it is in Auria for me. iPad Air. Latest Auria updates.
Don't even show up for me
in BeatMaker 2 it shows right on the first page of the IAA apps and I can even sequence it right from that track. Nice surprise. I don't think I can do that in Cubasis. I should start using BM2 more.
I just tried a bunch of t-shooting, it's not showing up on my IAA lists for BM2, Auria, or Cubasis. Tried opening Thor first, then uninstall/reinstall. Then I tried rebooting the iPad. No luck.
Air 128 7.1.2 (currently the most up to date)
for me is midi sequenceable via IAA in only one of my two favorites, BM2.
Shows up, but haven't gotten it to make noise inside MTS via IAA, sadly. It does fly nicely as a sequenceable source in MTS via Audiobus though...

Inconsistency in midi (as in refereeing) is the thing that kills me. No sign of it here IAA in BM2. Works nicely in Auria. Air/latest etc.
