I have Synthmaster 1 and it’s a bit too trance sounding and clean for my needs. I am reluctant to try Synthmaster 2, unless it’s a total remake.. I am not a fan of these “clean” polished sounding synths. I have to try a few of these mentioned above. Thanks 😊

You’re not wrong 😂 it’s such a good synth though. Also Synclavier Go kinda falls under that umbrella but it’s a littler harder to navigate. At least for me.

Look into Nambu and Tera Pro. Both with limitless tweakability.

tip: when you want synth sound dirty and upredictable

• use mild lfo>pitch modulation with slow LFO which rate is modulated by other, ideally random, LFO
• use ovedrive (you can also modulate overdrive parameters with LFO to add variations)

of course use just very small amount of modulation amount otherwise it all gets wild and mess very quickly

Yes and add some saturation as well and it sounds better. Is SynthMaster 2 a lot better than 1? Worth the upgrade ?

I don't like neither of them, for me SM1/2 UI is mess, it's very hard for me to do any meaningful deeper sound design there ..

I feel the same way. The synths UI’s are too busy and not laid out in a way that has ever made sense to me.

I never use SM2 like a synth but like a very big sound bank adding external effects to it like crazy reverb like Cascade
