edited June 2023 in Hardware

impressive list of planned synths .. curious how much of them will actually hit the market in current decade …

btw. those super-mini volca-alike are extremely ugly 😂

  • Wow..the Obx and sem clones look interesting as well as the vcs, my only apprehension is that I own the Poly D and it’s pretty noisy. When I turn it all the way up I hear noise and a high pitch sound. The problem is you have to turn it up to get a decent signal, especially compared to my other analog synths. I’d like to see how they sound in person

    Wow - that's some list!

Amazing they can do some of the tiny ones for $49 when you think a lot of our AUv3 FX apps cost that much - and the apps are just software, not a physical object that needs to be made, stored, shipped and sold.

  • lol yeah, something like that 🤣🤣🤣

  • Uli's fairy tales

Yikes, thank you for the unintentional heads up 🙏🏻

  • …I have some Behringer synths on my wishlist, but I’m apprehensive due to quality concerns.

I had Neutron, K2, Cat (and still have TD-3) - totally satisfied with quality .. especially K2/Neutron and Cat are built like tank, everything great, sound too, no noise or other problems whatsover. Will buy them again at some point.

  • My eyes are bleeding after such long list of U(g)li synths... that said, can’t wait to expand my ugly corner of Bs.
Especially interested in Proton, SEM and Buchla clones... also hoping for CS80 clone in desktop version.

  • I expect I'll get the Hirotribe.

  • More curious when their DAW is gonna drop.

    CS80, you and me both!
I feel like this clone is much needed because the real CS is like buying a luxury car, if you can even find one.

I was thinking about this the other day!
Many complain about Behringer making knock-offs, but I feel they aren’t much different the plugin emulation market. Arturia, Cherry Audio and Softube to name a few that make emulations. I feel like Behringer is providing “dreams coming true” to some degree recreating classic gear at affordable prices, no different than the affordable versions of plugins we get on iOS.

I got my K-2 three years ago and I still love playing it. Indeed great sound and good quality. Very stable tuning.
On the other hand a friend of mine got himself the Odyssey and was really disappointed: The synth didn’t stay in tune and turning the filter, VCO etc. knobs only a third covered already the full settings range. In the end he sold it and got himself the real ARP Odyssey. I can say Huge difference in this case.

It’s funny for the price of the Behringer Odyssey, I bought two Korg module versions. 😂

On the other hand, the Cherry Audio version for desktop (GX-80) sounds fantastic and is only $59.00. No waiting! https://cherryaudio.com/products/gx-80

  • The prophet VS soul volca thing looks quite interesting, and it actually exists so will probably be one of the early products that ships.

those "volcaish" tiny things are very interesting but i really doesn't understand why they picked such mega ugly design .. they looks just plain bad ..

  • I already ordered an Edge.
The ‘Spice’ Subharmonicon clone and the Buchla Easel are interesting me a lot

Yep they’re ugly creations, but the quality of Behringer synths is at least equal to peer competition.

Yeah, no doubt about that... as i said i had few pieces from Behr. and build quality was superb.

  • I’ve had bad luck with Behringer and said I’d never buy another one but if they release that Buchla clone. Idk if I can resist. And as ugly as they are, if those Volca clones have usb it’s a maybe.

  • I do wonder when these will start shipping. They did say summer and we’re heading towards the middle of June.

They meant summer 2033 not summer 2023.

Make the announcement, see which proposed products get the most attention, and then make those and forget the rest.
