Intro Price: $12.95. Ends on February 11, 2024. Full Price $19.99.
Philicorda is a faithful emulation of the legendary 1960s Philicorda organ.
This plugin replicates the transistor-based sound of the later GM751 models, delivering the distinctively warm yet clear tones that made the Philicorda a classic.
Like the original hardware, Philicorda features a vibrato circuit, a spring reverb, and two speakers.
We have also added some extra features: overdrive, envelope generator, leakage, bias, and key click.
Available as AUv3 and Standalone.

Nice!!! Will be an instabuy for me.
What does it do?
Is it an emulation of the old Philicorda combo organ?
Sorry, but I don’t IG.
Is this iOS?
Ditto, I’m an Audiothing groupie 🙃
Don’t IG either but I made an exception and opened the link. I still have no idea about what this thing is.
Clearly an organ. Not the kidney or liver type though so if you’re after a transplant please look elsewhere.
Interesting, and like others I have no idea what it is

Thanks!
That was what I suspected.
Already have the Fingerlabs one but apparently I can’t NOT get an AudioThing app 😅
It’s out!

Yeah, finally out! 🥳
If you want to see it in action, we just posted this video:

Is the amazing playing an IAP?. Cos I need it 😳
I’ve been demoing it on desktop today, it’s got a great sound. I love the overdrive, the breakup is wonderful, it really captures the transistor sound
Just got the app and I totally agree.
Anyone care to make a comparison with the swell fingerlab app?
If no one’s done it by my next off day (tomorrow or Thursday) I’ll do it. Fingerlab makes excellent stuff but this seems fantastic too and might have an extra parameter or 2, I haven’t compared that deeply yet. I’m a sucker for old combo and transistor organs so I’m excited to give it a whirl.
Most of the controls are similar but the AudioThing app has leakage, bias, key click and speaker emulation. I could live without any of those. I think the reverb is much better than the Fingerlab, being a springish reverb rather than the more hall-like one for Fingerlab. I like the AudioThing vibrato better too, but the Fingerlab iPhilicorda has a phaser, which is always fun. I think one could make do with either app but I’m glad to have both. I did a video:
I wish I could buy that myself
Just a note on sample-based or even synthesized versions of these kinds of organs.
There are 12 oscillators that generate the top octave notes, lower octaves are generated by dividing the signals from the top octave. This means that all notes with the same name on different octaves are in sync. Something that could be quite hard to replicate with samples or even with plain synthesis. You usually end up with phasing issues instead.
Wow thank you for the video! Yeah, tapping on the case is not available on iOS as we have implemented the Zoom and Scroll that uses the edges to work.
I have a 25-minute spoken walkthrough video I made yesterday for Philicorda which compares these two, and which will be exclusive for Patreon supporters (yes, I'm finally opening a Patreon!) and will be available probably today (Wednesday) or tomorrow.
My Patreon is not officially launched yet, but here's a link to the Patreon walkthrough on Philicorda for anyone interested!

Here is my video for Philicorda
Thanks for the video, Doug!
This sounds great. Is it all modeled audio or is it a combo of modeled and samples? I noticed the the app is quite small as far as download size goes.
Would love to see many more synths and other keyboard-based noisemakers from AudioThing.
Thank you! The core DSP is fully modeled, samples are only used for the speakers and the reverb, as impulse responses.
As explained before, samples and regular synthesis don't really work well to replicate the octave dividers that drive these kinds of organs.
And yes, we plan to release more instruments in the future. We have a nearly finished Wurlitzer emulation plugin that will complement the Philicorda nicely
Nice!
The Wurlitzer will be on iOS as well? That’s an instrument that generally seems to get overlooked so I’m exciting to know something specifically for that is coming
Side question are you guys planning on bringing any of your drum plugins to iOS?
That's a good question (about the drum plugins).
