If you had to pick one vocal plugin/FX - what is your favorite vocal auv3?
I was looking at all of the categories of stuff I got for my iPad . I have a couple of daw, couple of drum auv3, symphonic instruments, couple of pianos (now I want GSi piano), synthesizers, and FX. Most of audio but a couple of midi fx. Then it accord to me I don’t have any vocal Fx.
I don’t do a lot of stuff that requires more than stuff like reverb , EQ but I saw some of the cool things lately and I wanted to know
If you had to pick ONE vocal FX plug-in (auv3) what would it be and why?
(Some better members than myself are more knowledgible and prolific so if you are compeled to put a top 3 favorite list then don’t feel brick wall limited ha)
Comments
Compressor, eq and reverb are necessary. I use Magic Death Eye and Fabfilters for compressor and eq. I alternate between a lot of different reverbs. They're all good.
For optional fx I like Bleass Voices and Eventide Undulator.
I was hopeful MDEstereo would hit summer sale but looks like they are slowing down
Bless voices is also on my last
As for FF I have the bundle so c3 L3 Q3 and ds3 are all there
I guess I have what I NEED / what all vocal and sound production requires
I suppose maybe I’m looking for something less necessary and more Fx type , I want something like turnado for vocals if something like that exists, something to chop it up in cool segments or something like another effect
Thx for ideas so far
This is by far the most effective plugin I've found for my vocals.
Probably a good versatile reverb. Couldn’t do without that.
😆😆😆 Hahaha! Your voice ain't nothing a little autotune can't fix.
-Fabfilter Pro-DS for deessing (I've tried others, and Pro-DS at default setting is the best, ymmv)
-Brusfri for cleaning up the recording (sometimes I use two Brusfri's to really minimise the noise)
-MusicPutty for tuning (it's not AUv3 yet, but it will be someday)
Before I caved and subscribed to MusicPutty yesterday, I used Waves Tune RT in Cubasis 3. I tried Bleass Voices for autotuning, but it's "okay" at best (it's better at creating backing vocal harmonies from a single recording). With MusicPutty, you can import a clean vocal recording and just tune it all by hand. Very intuitive interface that's easier to use than Vocal Tune Studio.
The vocal thing.
Made me redo setup and all these apps make you think you need an ipad upgrade.
But got a turntable and mic, routed that joins to a mix, into bleass voices etc. Might be cool to layer voices. Then layer or record samish or different scratch voices through the bleass, also. Then a bit of midi choir harmonics to the released scratch sample.
Might sound gash, though.
Haha lol now that’s a “meme” (just a pic but for us audioheadz we get the joke so loud and clear lol, no feedback haha)
Wim is a riot man
Definitely ; most likely the most used effect myself
As always thanks jwm ; I’m glad you compared those because I was looking at 3 of them. I still like Voices and the work behind it sigma.
So we’ve done the vanilla , basic, core components. We need those tools for mixing and mastering too
Let me push it a little here ; what is an EXPERIMENTAL plugin that can do a lot of voice/sample manipulation (slow down , reverse, invert, splice, chop n screw if you will).
I’m not looking for something to make me sing/sound as if I’m a singer. I want to just take what we built with the tools to make a great vocal track turn into something wilder and inconventional
Pro-R is the ultimate unintrusive vocal reverb
Looperator
Sounds like a job for Bleass Slow Machine, for Sugarbytes Effectrix, for Turnado, and apps of that nature. Aka "FSU" apps (f*** s*** up apps). I wish Image-Line would port over Grossbeat to be honest, lol. That app is chef's kiss when it comes to time-based effects.
BLEASS Slow Machine as mentioned, also BLEASS Motion FX has a lot of mangling potential.
Maybe try TB VoicePitcher. Besides the obvious use to add voices, these can be modulated and randomized and it has a very cool “freeze” function that adds very interesting glitching.
Nice couple of suggestions based on the demos. That’s more or less what I’m looking into now: Bleass and sugarbytes really has great FX. Thanks
Cheers mate. I forgot about Bleass Motion FX, but @tahiche reminded both of us thankfully, lol.
the ole Plug Out.....some say the best tool in the box.
Oh.... And don't forget this one!

Brilliant! Cheap too
See that’s great right there. Cheap but As you say in the Uk but to Americans it isn’t as used but this is one of the cases where it’s transcolloquial brilliant
And does Turnado work for vocals? I mean I guess why not but is there something more applicable into vocals?
Could end up with a high rate sample and hold result!
Hahaha!🤣 Fair enough.
I just use Mixbox for everything vocal related usually. I like using the LA2A, 660, and the API eq’s they have.
Tried it. Most of 'em just give up and crash. After that they refuse to load.
For all these heavy processors you will need as clean signal as possible first... so my vote goes for Brusfri
I think Brusfri is the best plug-in for anything that uses a microphone.
I heavily agree regarding Brusfri being the ultimate "clean up" plugin on iPad.
The KQ version is good enough. When you need to conserve cpu but only going by aum dsp.
Havent tested enough for a better opinion though.
Getting killer vocals is about much more than just which plugins you use.
definitely. Thank you
Aside from getting the right balance and stuff with your track, I really like what TaiChe and JW basically suggested a lot: either Bleass or TB are both awesome for the FSU vocal effects.
Also Zenbeats sampler has something to offer as well not surprisingly seeing how amazing all of it is, including ZC1 : Zen engine might be my favorite synth series now. More than anything else.
I really thank wim a lot for the time explanations and for suggesting what you have; so far you’re 100% right about what you’ve answers me with
I know the 58 is better for vocals but how do you feel about the 57 for vocals?
I think you got my winner for now; I’m gonna wait a couple of weeks to see how sales go, otherwise it’s between bleass, TB and Moloch
