When Can We Get Samples Imported Into Synths
Is it possible to add sample import from files into our iOS synths and synthesize our samples. ZENBEATS has this feature in SampleVerse, but unfortunately it only has simple synthesize features (LFO & Sampler Bank) and its one-shot sampler, just like GB isn’t any good. The next thing is NanoStudio and they have an alright sampler & synthesizer too, PROPS to them, they might be the only ones that have what I’m talking about. But would be nice if we had samplers like AudioLayer & SampleWiz or even a NanoStudio sampler combined with some of our full blown synths if you guys understand what I mean. Or make a new synth sampler app that can do that. I would really love to add a KICK wav then add some sine waves to it, as an example

I am sure you are aware that typing all caps represents shouting in a forum and considered rude.
So why are you shouting for ?
There’s quite a handful of apps that can already do this. What are you wanting that something like Buttersynth, Samplewiz, Sampleverse, etc can’t do?
@spanaboy505, that's not something that can just be added to all synths. Apps need to be specifically designed to do that and not very many are as you've seen.
What you may be overlooking is there's nothing limiting you to using only one synth at a time. Go ahead and layer them up! Play a kick sample in one app and a sine wave in some other synth. Trigger them both from the same note. Run them through the same FX or different ones. The only limit is what your device can handle.
Some apps, such as Drambo let you build your own combos right in the app. Your example of a kick with a sine is a piece of cake with Drambo. miRack is another modular synth that you can combine anything you want in a single app.
(BTW, FAC Drumkit and Drum Computer are two drum apps that let you import your own samples plus combine them with other sounds)
SynthScaper can do all of that. You only need to learn how to speak Igor 😎
@ecou are you for real?
Yeah sometimes I am!
I can’t be the first person to tell you that you should not use All Caps.
Many synths can load samples. As @wim says it isn’t a feature that makes sense for all apps.
If you changed the thread subject to non-screaming that would be nice.
@ecou yeah I wear a New York Yankees
@ecou
I have no idea what that means. I do not live in the US.
It’s about his preference for his name being in all capitals, but not sure that it’s that relevant here.
Most people don’t use all capitals for the reason you gave though - it’s generally considered to be rude.
I would say something kinda like SampleVerse & SampleWiz, but with a more traditional full featured synth. I use sampleverse all the time, but I don’t like how it reads one shots and its features aren’t as powerful like a regular SynthOne, Pure Synth & Butter Synth. I just tried Butter Synth quickly last night, so I’m still new to it. But I wasn’t aware that it could import samples. If ButterSynth can actually import samples, then I just found my app.
Thank you for the cultural enlightenment. Maybe he should actually modify is nickname to be all in capital letters. Let’s move on and talk about music. 🎶🎵
That doesn’t seem like a bad idea. I’m still clueless when it comes to triggering the same notes, routing, etc. I have Drambo, I just couldn’t fully understand how to use. Being new to Drambo, it intimidates me a little, but I guess GarageBand intimidated me at one time too. I’ve been needing to look at the Drambo tutorials to get me started. Drambo is a great iOS asset to have and I need to learn it asap. I should have known Drambo could achieve a layering feature. And MiRack is something I’ve been wanting to grab. Ever since Mela4, I’ve been more interested in MiRack.
BTW. There is a poll on Mela4 on what feature to vote for. And sample import is one of them, but I don’t know how likely Mela4 will add the sample feature, it needs to get more votes for Nikolozi to consider it.
Please, just stop. You’re doing yourself no favors whatsoever with this behavior.
Your keyboard seems to be able to do lowercase just fine. So, I guess THE SHOUTING was a choice.
WHAT? I CAN’’T HEAR YOU OVER ALL THIS NOISE!!!!!
I wouldn’t say rude, but a definite feeling of frustration in there.
Yea that is something the developers have to add in, users can’t just add sample import from files if it’s not built into the app. There are several synths, drum synths/samplers that do let you load samples hot strange mentioned a few.
yes it can, but it’s pretty limited for now, from synth you can modulate or change basically nothing, just play it .. improvements are on future todo list though
i think still best full blown synth where you can use multisamples just as standard oscillator (and combine them with other types of synthesis) is Obsidian inside NS2
Other synths that can use samples include; quanta, synthmaster 2, mood, Drambo, FRMS, buttersynth. I am sure that there are many more.
What host, if any, are you using? Are you using AUM? Audiobus? Another host?
You mentioned NS2. Routing midi to more than one track is pretty easy there.
Using Drambo can be pretty straightforward if you don't get too overwhelmed by all that you can do with it. It can be as simple as loading a synth and playing it. "Layering" like we're talking about can be as easy as loading multiple synths or samplers and adding a mixer module after them, then playing.
Mitosynth's been able to do this since 2014.
I haven’t used AUM or AudioBus, I have them, but haven’t used them. I usually use Cubasis, GB, AEM & DawnBeat. I started using Audio Evolution Mobile once they add Ghost Tracks a couple weeks ago. And I’ve been missing around with NanoStudio 2 w/Obsedian n Slate are freakin awesome. I noticed that the NanoStudio IAPs for Slate have some great drum kits. As for the routing or midi and whatever, I’m not too savvy on that and it’s something I need to learn. As in the wording & process is complicated for me at the moment. I’m sure if I watch an iOS tutorial, it’ll show me in a clearer light
I never knew MitoSynth could do this. I’ve seen it in the AppStore, but other than that I’ve never heard anything about it till now. Thanks Spider, I’m gonna purchase Mitosynth on payday
I believe Woodsynth does this and am curious to hear feedback about it if anyone cares to offer any. Thanks
MF DOOM 4ever
It's IAA, a dealcrusher for many. Not me. Bought it and like it, but haven't tried the sample function...
