Are We Alone ? (pytrance, almost like demo on Bleass synths :-))

edited July 2023 in Creations

Basically all sounds excluding drums are made with many instances of @bleassapp synths - Monolit, Megalit and Omega. So this little track can be considered as Bleass synths demo

Of course, also lot of grear FX’s involved - except of NS2 stock plugins also a hell lot of AU’s : @FredAntonCorvest Medusa (does true magic master !!), Chorus, Phaser and Transient (must have on drums), @CaelumAudio Choric (fantastic creative chorus), Beef (very musical overdrive/distortion module), Klevgrand Luxe, @brambos Woot, Bleass Delay.

Thanks to all devs for your great work, your tools are incredibly inspirative !

  • This is really a great track !! The BLEASS synth sound so good. Especially the intro pad. I love the transitions and beats.

Congratulation! I must check out more if your music.

  • great track! is the bassline sampled or a real-time bleass synth?

  • Great work!

  • very cool, thanks for sharing.

  • Absolute genius! This is a tour de force with NS2 and Bleass. Well done @dendy. The track is class. 👍🏼 That must have taken some time to pull together. Would love a breakdown of your tracks here. Looking at this I realise how much Apple have missed the mark with Logic in many ways, NS2 is hands down the best designed interface on an iOS DAW for sure.

Epic introduction, love mood, break is fantastic and rhythm development evolves perfectly. Keep them coming! 🤩

  • Thanks for all positive reactions 🙏 😇

Everything realtime ;) Only samples are kick, hihat, snare, crash and riser .. oh and that voice :-)) Rest are just instances of Megalit, Monolot and and Omega (often significantly processed through various FXs)

Approximately 4 evenings, 3-4 hours each one ;)

Would love a breakdown of your tracks here.

Well, thinking about some kind of tutorials on YT for long time but my very poor english speaking is still holding me back :-)) Should probably take some pronunciation course lol

  • Excellent track! A wonderful showcase for NS2 and the BLEASS apps - and, of course your creativity!
A lot of work went into producing that but the results speak for themselves.

  • Not my genre, even when spelled correctly (psy 😉) but this does sound great Dendy! The synths are really popping and it's all very uplifting. ZAJEBIŚCIE!

no idea what this means but i guess something good 😂

  • ah ok :-)) Poland is our neighbor country but i have almost zero knowledge of their language :-)) I am in general very bad in any other language than coding lol :-)) i saw some similiarity with our word “jebať” (== to fuck) but that was all :-))) Polish and Slovakian are actually a lot diffeeent languages, much more close are slovak and czech (we were one state once amd lot of mixed families are still here)

  • Such a lot of mastery put in a single track. Very impressive work!

    thanks :)

  • Low end processing is wonderful and cool!

I also use the Bleass synth relatively frequently, so it is very interesting and helpful.

  • Really good stuff @dendy!

I’m not a big fan of the BLEASS apps visually, but they do sound good! Also, I’m with @Gavinski as this isn’t my genre either, but I do appreciate the artistry, and the work that you put into it!

That, is of course a matter of opinion, and personal taste.

  • Great track. Not my style but great to hear something different with such interesting sounds, composition and mix. Like a 2023 Zoolook :)

  • Sick intro, lovely beats. Nice!

  • thanks again to all, really surprised by so much positive reactions..

can’t deny it makes me happy and gives me inspiration to make another even better one :-)

  • is the bassline bleass monolith? (yes, iam a bass lunatic/ocd victim) 😀

Yup monolith, this kind of bass is very simple, it’s just saw filtered by lowpass with short snappy filter envelope ..

this is all, no other modultion on “general” page.. i added a bit eq (ns2 bundled eq) to lower down sub bass spectrum (which makes unnecessary hum, not needed in this genre), also lowered a bit around 250hz, and added a bit around 3.5khz (to make bass more readable in mix, to emohasise it’s transient)

There is lot more “sequencing” work on this bass, basic midi data are this:

additionally, there is insert fx hipass filter on bass, with automation curve like this:

As you can see, it cycles and always first bass note in beat is actually filtered with cutoff set at 160hz (36dB/oct filter filt zero resonance - NS2 built in filter).

This is because during this note, there is still playing also tail of kick and you doesn’t want to collide bass low freq with kick low freq - but you want to hear bass (it’s transient / too frequency part) so whole bass pattern sounds full ..

  • Another good one, mate. More power to you!

Whenever I listen to your stuff I realise I probably like psytrance, actually 🙂 - even though I don't listen to it actively any other time, and I also completely ignore these genre-definitions anyway. I either like what I'm hearing or I don't - and that's where it ends for me. Keep on creating. 👍

well, validate this feeling with some actual real psytrance cause the mine is a kinda weird style, definitely not exactly like it should be :)))

This is how it SHOULD sound in case i would take a more care about having "standard modern psy" sound :)
But that would mean lot of hard work, which is not fun, so i take just elements which are (for me) easy to make, i prefer to have fun during creating, bypassing the "hard work part" LOL :)

great man, so you doing the infected sidechain filter thing by hand in ns2.
iam still looking for a reliable oscilloscope in ios, to phase align kick and bass.
what about a remix contest of your track?
could you export the midifiles at all in ns2?
    great work man

It has this name ? Didn't know :-)

i am still looking for a reliable oscilloscope in ios, to phase align kick and bass.

Well my trick is to avoid having low bass of kick and bass playing together at all .. then you don't need solve phasing issues :-))

what about a remix contest of your track?

Of course, always opened for remixing, i can build some sample pack if you are interested

could you export the midifiles at all in ns2?

Yes, most of arpeggios are generated in realtime with Rozetta Arpeggio midifx but i can eventually record it as midi into track so no problem

  • edited July 2023

infected gave away a reaktor patch about 20 years ago, doing exactly this, trigger a hipass with the kicks midi information. thats why i called it that way.
doing a perfect phase alignment sounds much better to my ears, so you can avoid another hipass messing with your sound/phase again.
phase correlations are one of the most important things in music production,
i learned this when i started recording drums.
and thats the reason why i searching for something like bazzism in ios, and a good oscilloscope.
its super easy to shift bazzism "phase" until theres no cancellation at all.
i do the hipass thingy only if kick and bass playing exactly the same time.
it would be a honour to do a remix of your track.
maybe a mixed sample/midi pack would be perfect.
maybe some others want give it a try too,
so you could make a own treat for this, if you want.

ok will prepare some remixpack and then will announce it in new thread so everybody can notice it and participate … i like that idea :-)

  • great!!
