  • Plates, springs, chambers… nouns that create the best ‘verbs.

I’ve been resisting but I’m still a sucker for a good demo.

  • That’s cheap. Rude not to…

  • Seem to be convolution based, anyone tested how is the cpu consumption?

  • I’m sold, but honestly I’m still dialing in exactly how I want my stock reverbs in LP4I.
More stuff will dilute what little brain I have left.

  • What’s the tap to load, is that for loading the presets? And ‘if’ this is IR based(?), are there different type of plates to choose from, apart from the settings?

Tap to load must be for loading presets, I am guessing, which it does via the files app. However, it doesn't seem to come with a folder with presets. Maybe you have to make your own folder? No idea.

But you have 2, a load and a tap to load button. It’s a mystery.. :/

Have to say though, this sounds great, to my ears. Though plate reverb is something I don't use much. I find the Mixbox plate reverbs produce a lot of harsh tones very easily, need to be very careful with predelay levels and other controls. Straight out of the box I'm getting much better results with this, both with short and long decay settings. Lack of predelay is a bit puzzling though, no?

You definitely have to be careful what you use a plate reverb on and how you dial it in. I might get time to make a demo on this that will show it can sound pretty much just as decent as any of the other plates I have on iOS, all of which were pricier

  • Sounds good ❤️

  • GReat for electric guitar!

  • Lovely on drums also

  • I mean for $1… it’s hard not to.

  • Wow a dollar?? Sign me up. I love a good reverb.

  • Sounds good but some of the dials are very unstable, it's like placing a ball on top of another ball. Hopefully it get fixed.

Yes.... The filter knobs maybe need some kind of curve controls or something

Would love to see it, or at least a list of the alternatives for plate on iOS ... although $1 is a tempting price point if the dev is responsive and updates.

I'm wondering if, even for only 0,99€, it is worth to buy it if we have Lunar Lander (the free version with 2 plates)

  • Don’t forget that you can do great plate style reverbs in Cascade as well. One fx I almost always throw in my mix.

  • I had previously downloaded the desktop version and took a closer look. UI is exactly the same. Interface is rather poorly designed. The whole duplication of LOAD and TAP TO LOAD is boggling. I thought maybe the TAP TO LOAD was an output of the name of the loaded preset, which would almost make sense. Seems like it could be 2/3 as tall with some easy consolidation of the controls. I haven't run any sound through it, so this is all surface level.

Anyone figure out if this is algorithmic or convolution based? The description says, "controllable Decay of the convolution," which suggestions convolution. If an emulation, is it attempting to emulate digital or physical plate? There was no documentation with the VST and the website docs are poor. If it is convolution, I'd prefer to just go with IRs and a loader.

Had to investigate alternatives, because for a second I thought there was a gap in my coverage. Eos 2 might be all I need. I see Adverb2 also an option and DDMF has an EMT emulation. The dev at OSC has been very actively putting work out there, which I appreciate. But is it getting updated? Handy that presets are cross-platform compatible, so it is said. Good price point. Convolution and wonky UI are things I can skip however.

Fear that DDMF ETM emu, it’s a drama on ios.

  • I’m curious about a sum fx update, but it hasn’t been out that long yet… so I’m hoping in the coming weeks.

    Hi
The "tap to load" feature likely refers to a convenient method of loading presets with just a tap. If the system is IR based (Infrared), it opens up the possibility of selecting from various types of plates, offering more versatility beyond the standard settings

It doesn't have any choice of different IRs etc so it's definitely not that. As others have mentioned, it's not even clear from the documentation whether it is IR-based or not.
