Tera Pro or Buttersynth

  • I like the Buttersynth interface more, easier for me to understand.

  • Tera Pro, and it’s not even close, ButterSynth on an iPhone is not really workable, and extremely buggy for me. I actually think Tera Pro with all the IAPs sounds better . The UI for TP to me is much better and for me is more user friendly. Maybe it’s different for iPad users but it’s not only much easier to navigate, it’s FAR more responsive.

I bought Tera Pro w/ Brainz iap after you suggested it the other day in another thread. It is really good. Im going to get the Waves iap next. Ive been sending Bleass Arpeggiator into TP and making my own presets this morning. If you haven’t gotten the Bleass Arp its another banger. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have all the IAPs now and it is a true super synth. Definitely watch @Gavinski ’s tutorial on waves to get the most out of it

  • Took me a while to get acclimated with Tera Pro’s user interface, but once I figured it out, I grew to love the endless capability, but also hate what it did to my aging A12x cpu. The type of sounds I like to make quickly burn my lap as the DSP hits 70-80% in no time. … I wanted to like Buttersynth too, but like others have remarked, I’ve also experienced far too many stability issues with it.

DSP Hogs like Moog Mariana and Tera Pro actually had me close to pulling the trigger on a new M4 iPad Pro this month, but I ended up deciding on a Virus Ti2 D + Keystep Pro instead. That way I can get many more years out of my 2018 iPad Pro, letting it handle effect duty + Sample based instruments like Koala/M1, while multi tracking numerous parts from Ti2.

Limiting the max polyphony on Tera Pro can help a lot with reducing CPU/Battery drain.

  • I don’t have virsyn pro, simply because the interface for me is too complicated for my simple brain. Buttersynth is really strait forward.
I would say, if you are creative and just want it to flow grab the butter… if you like deeper dives into the complex virsyn.. but again i don’t own the pro version I’ve only messed with the non pro
