This. Hate it. Any ideas?

Ask Mr Drambo?
the newpitch is very good
AUDynamics Processor is an incredibly handy gate/downward-expander/compressor/limiter all in plug-in.
Why the hate, you don't need to use them if you don't like them?
Is your AUv3 list is too short so those are the only ones the pop up?
Interesting! Playing with them in Drambo the other day I went to the Applestore to see if they were available as a separate download. The new pitch plugin is great. The distortion is really cool. great dynamics. The ol' Apple Matrix 'verb was actually pretty highly-regarded by quite a few.
So yeah...If other developers can gain access for their own DAW, please do
Drives me crazy on the desktop too, they might be good, but the list is huge and I almost never need them.
weird flex but ok xD
Not a "flex", looks like a simple observation.
Those available on the AppStore are NOT made by Apple...
The AUv3's in question here are 'baked in' into iOS/iPadOS and a developer can decide to show or hide them.
Prior to iPadOS16 they were very prone to crashes when used in other hosts than GarageBand,
They are only shown in Drambo if iOS/iPadOS is 16 or higher...
Also, the 31-band Graphic EQ is great!
Thanks! I'm sure I knew (but subsequently forgot) about them being within the OS. i wonder what the chances are of convincing other developers
Jens Guell has coded a wrapper (WU) for all these efx. First they cost $4 each but since march this year they are free. So you can use them in all hosts which don't display them like Drambo. Here for example the Dynamics Processor mentioned by @Samu:
https://apps.apple.com/de/app/wu-audynamicsprocessor/id1530783413
I'd appreciate an option to hide them, either one by one or all at once; I intentionally try to keep my options limited.
Wow! Excellent!
However, lamentably (And something I'll take complete responsibility for), my last interactions with Señor Guell weren't so pleasant. Given that, it'd make me feel bad about making off with all this free booty.
Perhaps I'll find something of his to pay for, by way of off-setting some of that guilt.
But many thanks for the tip
There’s a way to turn them on/off in settings, I watched a GarageBand Guide YouTube video recently, where he showed you how to turn them on/off.
Here’s the video. Basically in the settings app, scroll down to GarageBand on the left.
Any chance for a link?
A quick photo from the video. See the enable iOS effects toggle.
Thank you, well, that will not help in other hosts
Petition other DAW devs to add that function and then see.
Really, maybe try a restart after turning them off… I guess I assumed that if you disabled the fx plugins in GB, they wouldn’t be visible in other apps, but that might not necessarily be the case.
Ok thanks, worth a try, will download gb later and check if any luck
The those plug-ins are note related to GarageBand at all, they are standard iOS/iPadOS things built-in into Core Audio.
GarageBand just has an option to show/hide them in GarageBand and most keep them enabled since the EQ as one example is better than the GB built-in EQ.
I'm happy that Apple finally added proper iPad UI's for them which are in some cases better than those on macOS.
Cheers!
@rvr Showing "this crap" has been requested by quite a number of users here so @giku_beepstreet finally added them to the list of AUv3 processors.
I was not aware Apple had given these UI makeovers. The Delay AU is a massive improvement. It's actually closer to the "Other Desert Cities" plugin now.
The N-Band Equalizer is still a bit unwieldy to work with. Certainly not as easy as most of the commercially available EQs.
The 'Make Over' was part of the iPadOS16 update.
Stability was also greatly improved making them somewhat usable
(Developers have always been able to enable the Apple AUv3's in their apps but many have chosen not to due prior 'instability').
Having said that, "AUSampleDelay" immediately crashed GarageBand when I tried to use it. Oh, Apple...
Doesn't crash here 11" M1 iPadPro, iPadOS16.6.
Obviously I have no way to pinpoint why it crashed, but it did!
If I remember correctly, and apologies if I’m wrong, some of these are already in AUM in the form of the built in nodes. I vaguely remember Jonatan saying somewhere he would look into making them all available in AUM. However, given that he has a to-do list of galactic proportions, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Would like to have a choice. This stuff make me scroll instead of selecting the actual processor - I dont like any of them. Thus the frustration. I thought this was apple thing that can be solved in other way.
