  • I would like to sort my auv3 in subfolders, maybe drambo could implement that. then you could have a crap subfolder xD

I'd like that, too. I'm thinking about putting my favourites in Racks, so I can have a folder that just has the stuff I use regularly, and only dive into the full list occasionally. unfortunately then the icons wouldn't be shown.

@rvr Showing "this crap" has been requested by quite a number of users here so @giku_beepstreet finally added them to the list of AUv3 processors.

Would like to have a choice. This stuff make me scroll instead of selecting the actual processor - I dont like any of them. Thus the frustration. I thought this was apple thing that can be solved in other way.

You know there’s a search function too right?!
Just swipe down and type it in the plug-ins name, no need to scroll…

  • Typing the name is too much man, its not an ERP database. I have around 10 goto plugs, and this apple stuff is occupying exactly their space so they are more than 1 tap away. Usability and fluency, you know? I would happily return to ios 15, but guess what - its fkn impossible.

  • Favourite property and "show favorite only" setting would solve the issue I guess

Would love both AUM and Drambo to have that Search box as a fixed field.

  • Why take them away? I find them pretty useful and some of them are actually great!

Ine annoyance is that they all default to he same Apple logo. The inability to make any top-layer distinction between different FX types might be annoying enough to ditch 'em.

Wouldn’t it always say what the effect is called though? Unless you’re saying you generally only look at the logo when choosing an effect? Or maybe I’m just not getting it and personally want to keep all the good free apps 😂

It does have a text title above; at least in Drambo. But at-a-glance recognition is of course much more practical...hence their existence in the first place ;)

Given Apple's recent UI faux pas (Google: "What's the plural of faux pas"...), I think we could well do without them being the trend-setters. They get rid of graphical distinction, then who will follow next? It'll be anarchy!

Haha yeah the UI for the factory plugins in Logic Pro is uhhhh not great 😅 it’s one of the biggest turn offs about the whole DAW for me. Sculpture is amazing and so powerful but the UI makes me never want to use it.

Not to take this too far off-topic, it's the general inconsistency of utility. They demonstrate tabbed interfaces are possible, with 'Sample Alchemy' and they demonstrate the ability to engage directly with an eq curve, in 'Channel EQ'. So why is it not possible to interact with the eq curve in Chromaverb, in pre (dampening) and post eq tabbed format like on the desktop version. They give us the curve, but it's for display only.

And that's before we consider the arrogance of ignoring the last decade of great 3rd-party iOS interface design, all of which seems to be perfectly resizable in other hosts.

    Anyway...Rant over ;)

Yes apple makes a lot of questionable decisions in general. What’s worse is I don’t think they necessarily ignore it. I think they suppose their UI is better somehow or simply just don’t care. I love my iPad and what it can do and what I can do with it musically but Apple as a company is hard to love.

Despite having a Mac Mini, iPhone and iPad, I really can't stand Apple. Even these products that I get a lot of use and enjoyment from have annoying issues. With the exception of the iPad, I would easily be able to switch to alternatives. But they all come with their own inherent foibles. So, it's about working out which issues are worse to deal with than others. On balance, that still keeps e with Apple. But who knows...They'd probably only have to pull some new, really egregious shit for me to up 'n' leave 'em. That's if other factors don't force my hand sooner.

Haha… Apple is the worst company ever… except for all of the other ones.

But seriously, they’ve made some of the best computing and music tools I’ve ever had and I’ve never been more aggravated than when things don’t perform as expected. I don’t think I’ll ever find a better company that does what they do though.

Haha yep. This is exactly why I’m still attached at the hip to my iPad lol. There’s just nothing else that comes close right now. And the amount of amazing apps is unparalleled on any other platform as well, especially when you factor the price. As frustrating as they can be, I’m still technically a fan 😂

Really, maybe try a restart after turning them off… I guess I assumed that if you disabled the fx plugins in GB, they wouldn’t be visible in other apps, but that might not necessarily be the case.

The those plug-ins are note related to GarageBand at all, they are standard iOS/iPadOS things built-in into Core Audio.
GarageBand just has an option to show/hide them in GarageBand and most keep them enabled since the EQ as one example is better than the GB built-in EQ.

I'm happy that Apple finally added proper iPad UI's for them which are in some cases better than those on macOS.

    Cheers!

Gotcha. Wasn’t sure since I never saw them in AUM. My main workflow.
