I use beta of valvet in TestFlight (and now I have a release, of course) and can say, that it’s more inspirational (not only) saturator. You can add it on the master bus for more shiny mix, you can add the warm to tracks, you can use it as experimental clocked overdrive for synths or drums, you can use it as tube distortion (more in gain and less out gain)….

I like Woodman’s plugins for the features. Every effect had more additional creative possibilities. Valvet not an exception.

Agreed. Overall I’m really enjoying this app. Only other ones I have are Woodstepper and Woodsynth but I love them both and am looking forward to trying more.

Do you like weird delays? My favorite Woodman plugin is Woodulator

    Easily my fave of his!

Definitely need to watch this later. Isn’t this going for a similar thing as Rainbow Delay, Bleass, etc where it’s a delay and pitch modulator or is it also doing it’s own thing? Some of the demos I’ve heard sound nuts!

Does Bleass do reverse delay too? I don't recall. I see Woodulator in the same territory as the Chase Bliss Thermae delay pedal.

I don’t believe they do. Yaled, Dubstationc and Reverser may be the only ones. Does Woodulator do that also? I think I missed that about it.

Yeah, it basically has a regular delay line plus two additional ones that can run at different speeds (so you get pitch shifting), including backwards. The Cactus algorithm in Other Desert Cities can also be considered a close relative I think.

  • Since I only have iPhone, and could never have Fabfilter Saturn, this seems like a no brainier for me. Plus, they have me at “Auto gain input” and “constant level”.

Cool thanks! It’s definitely high up on my list. I’m a sucker for a cook/unique delay and this falls right in line with that. There’s only a couple I don’t have and I’m working my way to them 😂

  • The price is a bit high for me. Intro would be good. But Woodman rock the ios plugin world so hard I can't not support that. Bought, and will test a bit later on.

  • Does an app of this nature introduce any latency?

I don’t hear any latency playing an instrument with a keyboard while this is on fx slot

  • WoodValvet 1.1 has been released :

    • Added oversampling (1,2,4,8) : avoids (lower) un-harmonic frequencies caused by aliasing especially for higher input frequencies which get harmonics above the Nyquist frequency.
    • Added input filter slope control : 12 .. 48 dB/oct allowing for better band separation.
    • Added “Out of Band” gain : useful when selecting a smaller region (snare …) with the input band filter to compensate for the perceived loudness loss in the out-of-band frequencies (kick, bass, HH, …).
    • Added new “Inter Modulation” control for extra and different distortion.
    • Added 13 more presets.
    • Fixed automation on iOS
