There’s also a Mutable Instruments Clouds module in miRack that accepts midi input (named vol/oct in modular fashion) and processes audio in real-time so if you have miRack there’s that

I always forget to recommend MiRack even though it seems like it has everything lol what a great app. I need to learn it more though.

Isn’t there a clouds in the free spectrum bundle? Can’t beat free.

I get why Fluss doesn’t fit the requirement here, in order to play Fluss as a synth with incoming midi you have to run it in standalone mode or as an AU “instrument” with wav import
Once you load Fluss as an “effect” to process incoming audio in real-time you lose the midi more input option and you have to stick to the XY boxes with the scale setting
OP wants to play incoming audio like a synth which Fluss wouldn’t do
Still all in all it’s my favorite granular

You've missed Bleass Granulizer, Fluss, and at least one of those apesoft granular apps, though I forget which, and there are definitely more out there. I think there was a fairly thorough thread about this recently, probably worth a search of the forum - pretty sure everything got covered there

Granulizer and Fluss are more like effects than synths though. I do use Fluss, alongside UA Silo, and I like them a lot, but they're not synths

Hmm Fluss is definitely a synth. It can be an effect but works very well as a synth too. Have you only used it as an effect? Also any reason why it can’t be an effect?

Let me settle this one out for you guys: they’re both
An FX since it affects audio, but also a synth since you can play (re)synthesized sounds

Right. No one’s disputing that, so no need to “settle” anything. But Bleass Granulizer is made to be an FX app. Fluss is made to be an instrument that can be used as an effect for processing audio. So it didn’t make sense for you to turn down that recommendation since it fits exactly what you were asking for. Confusing.

No I get it, but the OP said it wasn’t a synth at all so I was clarifying. Then they kind of condescendingly “corrected” me by reiterating what I just said lol. It seems like nothing really fits the description as nothing can process incoming audio in the instrument slot without using the built in mic or another mic. They never mentioned rather they wanted to do that or run other iOS instruments into it. Unless I missed it.

You're confusing who replied to you, I'm the OP and I didn't reply to you

can someone list realtime granular fx au with a sidechain midi input?

What is side chain midi input? Side chain is for audio, not midi.

Is what you're asking whether there's a granular FX that can accept side chain input to duck or alter the granulation of the incoming regular signal in response to the side chain? Or are you asking if there's a granular FX that can granulate a side chain input? Or, maybe something to do with midi control?

Or do you mean a granular FX that processes audio from one channel, but takes in midi from another channel to pitch shift the audio? That was my association.
