Comments
It crashes when loading. BM3 and AUM…
A restart didn’t help
zip file importing is super nice in standalone
I can load it in AUM as an AUv3 audio instrument, but trying to load it into an audio effect slot as AudioLayer MFx fails.
iPad Pro 3rd Gen M1 model iOS 16.6.1
AUM version 1.4.5
If it crashes on startup something is wrong with the start up file. Please trash the file "last.state" in the AudioLayer folder. Then everything should run smooth again.
And by the way, one can find this "last.state" file in "Settings > General > iPad Storage > AudioLayer"
This is a terrific update, @VirSyn. Great idea to make the XinematiX samples available on more of your compatible apps.
on the shopping list straight away.
very curious to see if i can make some of my drum samples work for MPE. i'm thinking in the way that physical brushes move across a drum surface. i imagine such a thing is more likely to work well with synthetic drum sounds, but in the absence of an MPE 909 out there, how expressive can i get some sampled drums to respond.
Thanks @Virsyn. What a gift.
Worth mentioning that all the Xinematix Packs have new 50% lower pricing!
It does appear that AudioLayer and XinematiX download their own instance to private storage
as a byproduct of Apple’s approach to app security.
Perfect. Worked for me. It now loads as an instrument and audio effect in AUM. Thanks.
@VirSyn great update! I especially appreciate the layer functions, with the mute/solo buttons at the top of the list. Any chance we can get AU parameters for the mute layer at the very least?
Anyone know if AudioLayer and Xinematix support storing patches and samples to an SSD?
Yep. (AudioLayer screenshot)
@VirSyn
Thanks for the update. I noticed its not possible to create folders in the xinematix library for user patches.
Not in audiolayer and not in xinematix. Would be helpful if all user patches would be saved in at least a user folder, and have the option to create folders in that user folder.
Yeah I saw this today. Massive update. Cheers @VirSyn
Excellent Update !!!!!!
Hi
After Update I Managed To Run AudioLayer As Standalone It Worked Fine. Then I tried To Load It On AUM It Did Not Load I’ve RunThe App On The Background As Standalone And Try To Load It In AUM But No Luck I Went And Uninstalled The “last state”
As Mentioned Above Again No Luck I Rebooted No Luck I Uninstalled The App And Reinstalled It Now It’s Not Running Either Way Not Standalone Nor As AUv3 Any Help Is Welcome
Ps I Gave It A Try With Logic No Luck Also
My iPad Model Is
16.6.1
iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (4th generation)WiFi
256Gb
Thank You !!!!!
Thanks! Have you used one? I’m curious how quickly it streams the data for changing presets and loading up samples, etc. I think I may be better off just upgrading my iPad anyway.
You did a full shutdown/force restart of your iPad Pro?
The updated AudioLayer standalone also crashes on startup on my iPad 10.5 with IOS 16.2 Reboot or removal of the last.state file didn‘t fix the problem.
Trying to reproduce it here and I may have an idea but have to try out more.
Thanks so much @VirSyn for this great update ! 👍
As we already discussed it in another thread, would you consider to add a « sample start position randomizer » ?
When set to zero => sample starts at position zero (as in current version)
When set to > 0, adds a random delay (something from 1ms to 1s). The lower the value, the shorter the random delay.
This would humanize multi-layered samples as hand claps, voice ensemble : each time you press a key, the attack sounds different.
Now it crashes both as standalone AND as auv3, after trashing last state file…
EDIT - offloading the app and re-installing didn’t help. Same thing.
Already built in
Look at the Layer settings and you’ll find some handy humanization options - including a random sample delay!
I know at least 1 additional person that it is happening to him, after deleting the last.state file the standalone stopped working as well
i think he means the sample start point, not a start delay.
With the start delay getting negative this should essentially be the same. But now that I write this I'm not sure if the negative part is working...Have to test.
so the delay is not a midi delay, but a sample start offset?
Took the dive and deleted the app when I saw both al + xinematix use a storage container of some sorts so I probably won’t lose my data
Tried reinstalling it from scratch afterwards and I get the same crash in both standalone and au
Oh this is really cool, thanks !
I haven’t installed yet the new version, sorry. But will try this very soon !
Hi @NeuM
Yes I Did
I Managed to make AudioLayer Work Again by Coping The “las state” File of Xinematix into AudioLayer And Worked !!!
Now Both work but AudioLayer Nit As AUv3 just Standalone Xinematix Work Fine Both Ways
Thanks !!!
How?
