@j_liljedahl - thanks for considering it.

There's a guy on Discord, AUM and Loopy Pro servers, that really, really, wants a per plugin tempo, but insists it needs a way to tap to set the tempo. He's mainly a Loopy Pro guy, so this won't help him, but I thought I'd mention it as it does seem like something that would be really useful, especially for things like delay plugins.

Per tempo plugin would definitely be useful.

I really feel that plugins that make sense to run non-synced to the host should already have a setting for that. Like the tempo sync on/off toggle in my AU3FX:Dub delay plugin :)

TBH, I think people are wanting hosts like AUM to make up for shortcomings in the AUv3s they use. For example, wim mention someone who wants a per plugin setting because the delay the person uses doesn’t have a midi-able tap tempo and as a workaround wants the host to have independent tap tempo/tempo for logins since he wants independent control. I personally don’t think this is something that makes sense for the host to solve.

Indeed. The tap-tempo thing was an add-on thought based on that user's request. The main impetus was @Svetlovska 's desire for a workaround for the 20bpm limit in AUM. Seems like it would be uber handy though.

For sure. I wish decoupling would become standard for all apps.

That’s a great delay though! Your whole effects suite is fantastic 🤌🏻

@j_liljedahl : a setting per plugin sounds good to me! :)

Wow that would be super cool. If you could set tempo per plugin, with the default setting being the same as host, so you only needed to adjust the tempo settings on the individual nodes you want to alter, that would be crazy cool.

  • Thumbs up for that idea too!!

No, I'm not thinking individual separate clocks per plugin, just a single multiplier/divider per plugin.

Clock dividers in AUM would be excellent

That would be ideal for me as it would allow for different clocks, but still in sync.

A clock multiplier/divider would be great.

What would be super great, would be to allow for unusual multiples/divisions, if it’s doable. So maybe 1 to 20 (or more) in each direction to allow for strange phasing patterns. I’m a fan of prime number multiples/divisions for example.

I requested just this on Discord a year or so ago. I think it would be a really great feature and very glad to see it getting some renewed traction! Thank you @j_liljedahl 🙏

  • This would be an amazing addition to AUM. Extremely helpful when live looping using Ableton Link. Thanks for considering it @j_liljedahl !

  • @catherder the MiRack Clocked patch that I put together over
on the Beepstreet can also do different clock speeds.
If an auv3 accepts midi clock then you also set different speeds for those as well.
You can send the midi clock directly from MiRack as long as those auv3’s have a midi input.
As mentioned I’ve also figured out how to manually Start/Stop Transport and
assign Start/Stop per Clip for both software and hardware sequencers with a Reset.
Which works quite well I must say.

Perfect. That would get a lot of use out of me.

    Precisely what I was thinking.
