Why when using a master bus in AUM, the sound worsens?

@Antos3345 - you've got that Bus A fader pulled way down. To what are you comparing the "without master"? Are you sure it's not just purely difference in volume between the master output you've listened to and whatever the without master is? Change in volume can have a profound effect on how we perceive things to sound.

I wonder how it would compare if you rendered to a file, normalized it, and compared it to your without master listening. It might reveal some things and help to narrow down the issue.

  • I think it's the compressor in track 4. I lowered it and sounded better and that was the culprit.
    Thanks all :)

@j_liljedahl can you remind us if AUM does any auto limiting or is that an iPad volume control thing? I know we chatted about this a long time ago but can’t remember what you said lol.

There's no auto-limiting or any kind of processing done by AUM itself.

In case this is not obvious: In general, turn off auto gain on any compressors, match the level manually so that when you enable or disable, it's compressing, not changing perceivable volume.
