Samplr update is probably the only thing stopping me from jumping on the ios8 bandwagon like a crazy bear.
Can we assume that apps like Easybeats 3 will be iOS8 compatible but not Easybeats 2 ? (just an example).
I'm scared about several no-musical apps. I mean, if I go ti iOS8 maybe I'll have to purchase the new versions. Well, I never thought about the "free updates forever" idea.
Devs have to make an effort to adapt their apps every year (at least once).
I love it when apple drops new OSs, makes me feel like a little boy on x-mas day.

I feel you, @Supadom
Since I have two iPads, I plan on updating one to see what breaks.
Heard from some devs: DXi, Jam Maestro, Altispace, Modal Pro in the works. MasterFX and Master Record coming shortly
No Animoog, no iOS 8 for me.
Mobmuplat (the pd thing) update just fell out of the store
My Air is crrcrfrrrfrfrccrashing for ten days and getting worse. Maybe I should update.
I wonder if the update removes all the junk in "other"
Then it might become known as the "other" update.
Just to be absolutely clear...there is no way my ipad will auto-update to iOS8?
There isn't some hidden setting I have to check? I already manually update apps. Losing the korgs (+ various other apps) would be a real bad day.
Logic remote now in store, getting closer ...
It's out in Holland. Need 5.8 Gb free space to install.
Animoog is coming @richardyot - a phone call to Amos by another iPM contact confirmed that the other day.
Phew - so - most of us are safe from a push download then @Egz because our iPads are so crammed with apps! :-)
My download was almost ready then I got an error message and it broke up, if I try again I get some error has happend
Usually, wifi updates requires twice than iTunes option. So you can download the update in your computer and sync.

If you hook it up to a PC/Mac with iTunes and install it that way, do you still need to clear the space? I thought I did that with iOS 7.
I see no earthly way I could clear 5.8 GB of space on either device. Not without risking deletion of synths and drum apps (not to mention DAW's) with tons of presets and samples loaded in. I probably have all that content somewhere, but it's hard to reinstate it when I don't even remember all that I had in the first place.
This is the "dark side" of mobile device music and operating systems in general. Will almost certainly do the upgrade on my iPhone 5s, but the iPad2 (assuming it's even recommended to update for that) will stay on iOS7 for awhile so at least the music apps there will work.
(Wrong thread)
My mini retina is telling me I need 6.9G of space. I have 780M available, so I have some decisions to make.....or stay on iOS7.
Since i have most of the music apps in the world but don't need the most of them now i would be happy to be a guinea pig for iPad Air and iPhone 5...... but as always the server are melting down. In a few days i could perhaps give some feedback. So if anyone have a special wish or needs some app tested..........
Yes @Cinebient - can you test whether the download direct to the iDevice can be deleted from the device and not installed it it happens to get pushed. (I imagine it's not a problem to redo later from the iTunes desktop).
As per here:
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/01/13/ios-7-1-delete-over-the-air-updates/
@MusicInclusive: As soon i'm able to download it..... it's on my list
As mentioned elsewhere, about to get on a plane for ten days for a trip to the middle of nowhere (London), so think I will plod along in ignorant Sevenville and then see which of you are still alive when I get back. Good luck to you all etc. (suppresses a sob, turns away, doesn't look back)
I think I might as well go back to factory settings first before installing and then reinstall apps as and when they've been updated...not too many presets or other work that hasn't been backed up elsewhere. Just an opportunity for a clean-up...
Make a backup via iTunes. Then reset the device to factory settings and delete all content. Then update. Then restore backup from iTunes. Then curse about all the things that haven't been restored correctly.
Happy travels @JohnnyGoodyear. That should be enough time for us to work out all the bugs. ;-)
if u think u r stuck with "preparing update" do nothing - its doing something (i hope)
have fun in london johnny
No Samplr, no update
