FEEDBACK FRIDAY! Let’s support our favorite developers!
I’m moving this conversation out of the App Sales thread to give it some space of its own. Let’s start a tradition where we take a few minutes out of our day each Friday to leave ratings and reviews for some of the apps we love and find useful. Ratings and reviews help developers gain greater visibility in the App Store, and can help dilute the impact of undeserved bad reviews (even the best apps have a few!)
The ABF community can really make a difference for independent developers by using our voices. Let’s help encourage them as they work to keep bringing us their amazing apps.
A couple suggestions:
Please don’t use this thread to try and organize “brigades” against bad apps. Let’s keep this space a positive place to express appreciation.
Leave a comment to say who you’re supporting this week! Then this can also be a space to discover the apps that are inspiring others right now.

I’ll start, this week I left reviews for my favorite FAC apps, and for TB Lowtone. @FredAntonCorvest and ToneBoosters are both developers that put out top-grade, beautiful sounding apps that are always a bargain. FAC Drumkit is one of the best drum engines on the App Store right now, and TB Lowtone is a fantastic lush monosynth that’s infinitely tweakable.
I probably haven’t checked for FAC app reviews, so will do that.
My list is long but I'll start this week with Bram Bos. Every single app is a winner and Hilda is still my number one synth of the year (sorry Salome)
Hi just had to say i got the FAC bundle deal, it was like 80% compared, 20 bucks for total 140?? Great fx, one sweetspot
Yeah I got in on the FAC bundle deal too, great deal!
This is a great idea. I'll leave a nice review for Drambo!
I’m going for FAC as well considering I just got Envolver for free through the bundle deal.
What a great idea for a thread!
It would be good to post a list of apps that got updates during the week. I think reviews need to be re-posted after some updates or they disappear. It would be a good reminder to update those reviews.
Sweet the initial Feedback Friday! Off to leave one but I think I did all the FAc’s that I have purchased. I was gifted/won a couple, can’t write a review on those. Will at least check to see if any are left. Like the positive energy and synergy. Cheers.
I never knew how that worked, I thought maybe the developer could order them or something cause I’ve noticed a few missing over the years. Or maybe an update/app was off and back on App Store.
for me this is Imaginando week.
enjoying a lot BAM beta both on iPad and Mac, this is going to be my to-go sketching app.
also gor DRC for desktop (already had it on iPad)
Plan to get PhaseMonkey tomorrow and will be updating with a review this weekend!
Pretty stoked FF keeps releasing their apps for iOS, always nice to have tools I know well available when I have to work mobile.
Glad this idea got legs, thank you for kickstarting it @mjm1138!
I found out I had the OPL synth from discoDSP, eyeballed the Oberheim clone for $10, saw there was a bundle for $8, and got the Oberheim plus two other apps for $8 instead of $10 for the Oberheim alone. Great bargain!
But if there's one app dev I really appreciate, it's Marek @elf_audio ! My usage of Koala is still going super strong! That bussing mixer really made it a complete app. Having an arranger for the sequences would be a nice update, and I'd pay an IAP for that, but really Koala is fantastic as it stands currently.
I am so enjoying Hip Hop Drummer (top of the nonAUv3 exemptions, hell cant even save projects, but I love it) and good old Gadget! I thought I was done with Gadget years ago but recently listening back to past tracks on desktop I could not get over how many of my favourite tracks seemed to start on iPad in Gadget. The flow? The minimalist, not drowning in fx, eq range sensitive presets? Yah maybe, I don't know, but dayum, havin fun! Guess I will grab a couple Module packs soon.
Hope Korg has quietly been manicuring a Gadget 3...
Yep Gadget is fantastic. That’s what fully got me into iOS production back in 2014.
I’m super interested in HipHop Drummer though. I have Splat to Clat and love it and thought I was set with just that. Until I saw a demo of HH Drummer and now I’m completely sold.
Well! This celebrated idea seems to be in a need of a bump. I thought maybe @mjm1138 would do this on a weekly basis, and maybe he will(?). 🤷 😁
I wrote a review for Transit today and I could not help myself but mentioning the many missing parts (compared to desktop version) and feel of premature release.
Yes @Pxlhg thanks for the bump, it is indeed Feedback Friday again! And yes, this is also an opportunity for us to provide developers with constructive criticism. Many developers follow the conversations on this and other forums, but not all do!
I'm going to take some time today for BeepStreet. Dagger is a fantastic new synth, and Zeeon and Sunrizer have been mainstays for years now.
Good choices!👍🏻
Yeah, Dagger, Zeeon, and Sunrizer are all great. Going to check I left a review for each of them.
This is a great idea! I never remember to go back and at least leave a Star rating. Showing some love for Bram Bos and Beepstreet, and will continue through my faves.
Nice! Bram Bos is always a good choice
Giving this one more bump as the day winds down. Who are y'all recognizing for their efforts this week? BTW I totally forgot BeepStreet brought us Drambo! Even though I've never really connected with Drambo myself, I left it a good review, because it's just so powerful and you get so much for your money.
@HotStrange Hip Hop Drummer is killer. All the LUMBEATS plugs are great in my opinion. Raggae and Future, Hip Hop being my favorites. Raggae drummer is so good.
Been using Media Assistant and Salome a lot lately. Gonna review those today I think.
How do you like iBassist? When I get my holiday bonus I’m gonna get a couple of them. Probably HipHop Drummer and iBassist first. After that, Soft, Jazz, and Future all look great.
Just left feedback for phase monkey with a five star review!!! Not sure how long it takes to go live
Phase Monkey review is up!
Good one! 😁
