Shout out for Sugar Bytes, the pioneers of playable pandemonium, diatonic disturbances, controlled chaos, musical madness, symphonic serendipity.
With their unique appreoach to creating randomness and surprise, I regularly turn to their apps for inspiration. The apps do need a bit of taming, and patience to learn the intricacies, but their manuals are excellent - detailed and easy to read, and it's well worth the investment of time and energy.
My only wish is that some of their other excellent apps e.g. Obscurium, Graindad would get the iOS treatment ... we can but hope!
I know I’ve read on here where someone said they’re currently working on at least one iOS port but I can’t remember if it was Graindad or not. Would love to have that on iOS though.
Ooo I'd love to know what they're up to!
Same here! If I remember I may shoot them an email tomorrow and see if I get a response 😎
Hey! It’s that time again! Who are y’all supporting this week? I’m going to take a minute today to leave some props for Audio Damage, who shipped a maintenance release for the highly underrated Phosphor today. There are a lot of poly synths out there now, but Phosphor remains unique, and surprisingly tweakable for an additive synth. And Dubstation is my absolute go-to grimy echo effect. Let’s not forget EOS and ODC as well, classic effects in their own right (and, I think they’re all on sale right now!)
Definitely Audio Damage! Great apps!
Right on! I forgot to mention Replicant in my comment above. That app is a blast!
Going to buy Replicant for the desktop while it’s on sale. Great on iOS, and know I can use it on desktop.
Hey, one more bump on this thread since there isn't much uptake this week! I know some of y'all have gotten some amazing deals on apps this week, let's give some love!
I just saw that earlier! I’m glad they’re still supporting it as it’s one of my favorites and it’s a pretty unique app.
Wow Friday already?
I got Woodscaper during the sale a couple days ago and I’m currently in love with it. Think that’s gonna be the one I review today.
All right let's try this one more time, didn't get a lot of response last week, but hey, here in the US it's Thanksgiving week, so what apps/black friday deals are you giving thanks for? Today I'm going to be sure I've left ratings and feedback for all the great apps from @cem_olcay. Small, narrowly focused "sharp tools" that work great together to make my synth plugins sing!
If any of the few on my wishlist go on sale, I DEFINITELY will be giving thanks !!!
I finally bought No Limits 2 and HipHop drummer during the Black Friday sales so I think I’m gonna be reviewing them both today.
Bump!
Good idea! Who are you leaving feedback for this week? For my part, I'm going to give Moog and Sugarbytes some love. I've been having fun with Mariana since it came out, and SB's Drum Computer is a perennial favorite for me (and on sale right now!). Just maybe, the best randomized drum sequencer out there.
I don't have a comprehensive list of apps that got updates recently, but I know Cubasis got a significant update to 3.6, BAM got some new features, ID700 got an update, and Djay Pro AI got a significant update to 5.0.
Anyone got any other big updates to call out?
SugarBytes is a good company to show love to
Always!
Tera Pro got a well deserved 5 star review , and managed to give a shout out to @Gavinski as well 😎
Just reviewed a couple Lumbeat apps the other day but I’ll do it again today for the new GSDSP delay app.
Oh hey! I've been inconsistent with this thread, but I have to give a shout out to @Blue_Mangoo who engaged with the community here to solve some weird bugs that seemed to appear with iOS 17.3 a couple weeks ago. So, thanks! I'll be leaving reviews for iFretless Bass and Brass, along with Stereo Lag Time and Multiband, which have both proven handy.
What other developers have come through for the community when bugs have sprung up?
Honestly @ElliottGarage has been so involved and responsive with Nodes. One of our best devs and I urge everyone who bought it to leave a review. Same for @sinosoidal for BAM.
Yes! Those are great examples too!
I'm not sure exactly how many @MichaelTyson 's are simultaneously co-existing in this reality, but by my calculations there's at least 4 operating in tandem to develop Loopy Pro and monitor and respond in person to all the different forums and message groups.
He gets my 5 stars review this week. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Definitely!
So, it went over to Saturday but I feel a bit on the wild side and just gave 5 stars and a short praise to: No Input Mixer.
Five star review given to Redshrike
Before Nodes @ElliottGarage wasn’t my radar but now he’s in my top 3 with @Nikolozi and @MichaelTyson. Defo my 5 stars of this week!
HILDA ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Salome is great but def not as innovative and interesting as Hilda...
Yes! HILDA just oozes mojo. It’s nearly impossible to make a mediocre sound with it.
Also… I’ve finally gotten my head around Drambo by @giku_beepstreet, and I’m astounded. So robust, clever, and polished! A pure joy to use! After completing two tracks, I expect to be making many, many more with this thing😍
