Me too!
Thanks all! It was mostly a for-fun exercise, but I'm super stoked to hear that so many of you actually enjoy this new look!
I love it so much. I feel like a lot of what I’m trying to get after on iOS is incorporating a music easel inspired approach, & this is such delightful, inspiring, surprise.
Thanks so much for including this look!
Hope all works out for the best for you my friend.
It’s great! I’m probably gonna leave it in Easel mode 24/7 now
It’s an absolute beauty @brambos ! Love it.
I don’t know why but I love how the delay chip stays unchanged.
Quick question for you more educated Hilda-wallahs....I have my first simple sequence running and after a few goes around it slowly fades away and THEN COMES BACK AT FULL VOLUME again etc etc.....what do I have to click or uncheck to forestall the fading?
Thanks for your help....
It might be helpful to post a screenshot of your settings while it’s running.
But of course. Should have thought of that. Herewith:
It’s funny how a color scheme gives me such a new outlook on an instrument. It just feels right this way. Maybe I’ve gone off the feng shui/faux New Age deep end. But the original look was blah and made me averse to using it. Sorta like when Patterning 2 released and it looked all gritty and serious instead of colorful and playful like the first. Long live color
I think it’s this LFO -> Envelope setting
I’m only mentioning this as a data point in case it’s relevant for future designs.
The new skin is fun and refreshing, but I have to say it makes my eyes and brain tense up. I want to like it but had to retreat to the original.
I’m a dark mode kinda guy in general though.
Edit: Just noticed Bram already answered, so i removed my screenshot with markings.
.
Turn down the volume modulation (fully to the left) - its at currently max, that’s why the slow running „saw down“ LFO turns down the volume and then jumps back to full.
Was gonna answer but the man himself beat me to it, but hey at least you got an answer lol
The source of inspiration
Twas love at first sight.😍
I was inspired to purchase immediately upon clicking on this thread and seeing this beautiful rendition. Alas….no link.
make it easy for people to give you money @brambos
Thanks!!
( Quietly added the link to the OP )
No prob. I was motivated enough to search for our beloved Hilda at any rate.
In fact, I just sent a feature request to Apple to put an option to auto purchase anything from Brambos in App Store settings. Like, duh. They make the obvious things too difficult.
Wow, this looks lovely now. Definitely inspiring me to delve in again.
And now that @JohnnyGoodyear has been fooled into revealing his sublime synth programming I feel, after copying it, I will finally see some success in life.
@brambos @HotStrange @_ki Thank you very much. You have made me very happy etc
@AtticusL Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more, and good things will be yours. Spells can also be helpful.
Now that is one expert troll.
I'll most likely be getting Hilda pretty soon...
One 'thing' (I would not be 'me' if I didn't find something to add) I would love to see in the built-in sequencer is 'per-step ratcheting' for proper Berlin School ratchet sequences
@brambos Is there even a minor remote possibility for per step ratcheting being added to Hilda?
And the ability to make longer sequences, like a simple switch to set it to 32/64 steps. Thank you very much!
Can per step 'ties' be made? Rest can be done with velocity set to 0.
From what I've understood the 'gate time' is set globally for all steps?
Can the sequence be transposed using incoming midi-notes?
That’s a no on both counts. I’ve been pairing Cykle with it for all the above, ratchets, ties and gate lengths 👍
Thank you. If I wasn’t vegetarian I’d be standing at the edge of the water with my rod in my hand right now.
Hilda and Dagger seem to be a new type of iOS synth to me, the sound really jumps out at you.
Well, if you find a beloved who isn't vegetarian I think this might still work But in the meantime, I appreciate your tolerance with my silly sense of humor...
Two Hilda questions:
1) Is it possible to rotate the sequencer pattern? I’m getting some lovely results with randomization, but I’d like to shift the starting point.
2) Is it possible to send external MIDI in to control the root note of the sequencer?
