Woodsynth vs BLEASS Megalit

I don’t own Groove Rider GR-16 yet, but it does AND import wavetables as well.

  • I made the right choice with Tera Pro… thanks @Gavinski !!! I need to seriously study the how to’s so I can start getting deep into it but I’m in love with the sound of it, and just tweaking the presets has been fun so far .

The UI on Woodsynth scared me off because I’m thinking about how hard it would’ve been as an AU in GarageBand on my phone

I’m glad that I saw the above comment about Megalit not being comparable to Alpha and Omega… I was a bit disappointed in Alpha sonically but Omega is one of my favorites (and my daughter’s favorite overall to make patches). I may eventually get it but that’s down the road

I will eventually get Buttersynth too down the road

I love Bleass, but not including a wavetable editor or at least custom wavetable import was a big omission for Megalit.

I think they added that to the iOS version some time ago.

Just put the user wave-tables into iCloud Drives 'BLEASS Megalit/Wavetables/' folder and they should pop up, sub-folders are NOT supported so all wave-tables have to be directly in the Wavetables folder.

The user wavetables will be at the end of the wave-table list...

I bought Megalit! 🤩 Yes, it is possible to import wavetables, just like you described. Thank you very much! You are the king!

So far, I love it. The saturation and filters section is phenomenal; they even included a mini motion sequencer. The only thing is that the imported wavetable is not saved with a patch, it stays separate in the designated iCloud folder. I must be cautious when backup my sounds. I hope I’ll not forget this. I need more time to explore everything.

Megalit is instantly familiar to me, reading through manuals looks like wasting my time, haha. 😌

  • Woodsynth ( extremely extensive synth with an amazing external midi sequencer. )

I love the sound and features of Woodsynth but the UI is its downfall. It’s not easy to navigate and I still haven’t completely learned it and I’ve had it for some time now. The dev has lots of videos on YouTube channel about it though and seems like a great guy!

Wood tools caught my eye a long time ago. The developer is polite and active on the forum, I want to support his work. WoodTroller is probably the first candidate for me to start exploring the Woodverse. 🤓

Don’t have Woodtroller yet. I can get it in the bundle for cheap but the bundles are gone during the BF sale so I’m just waiting on that. I did get WoodnGate and Woodscaper during the sale and they’re both fantastic. Woodscaper took me by complete surprise. Thought it was just a bog standard multi effect but it can get reeeeal weird. WoodValve is amazing too.

Woodstepper is one of my favorite apps. Lots of functionality and an easier UI. Woodsynth sounds amazing and has an extensive feature list but I need to dive into more and truly learn the UI beyond tweaking presets.

Don’t have WoodLofier or Compressor because I have too many other apps that do those things but they seem great. His apps, much like Bleass, seem to take “normal” effects and push them into weirder territory which I appreciate.

Sorry to get long winded lol I just love his apps and they seem to get somewhat underrated generally.

    Woodscaper is fantastic, definitely!

I feel like a 🐒 now! 😂 WoodTroller is a freaking fantastic MPE controller. I bought Surface Builder to make those rotary knobs that control more than one CC, but SB never implemented that feature. And all along, WoodTroller had this, including a great MPE keyboard. I wasted so much time. Sadly, it will not replace VKB and KB-1 because of the cluttered UI. That huge logo name in the header is almost embarrassing, haha. But it will be great for those rotary knobs.

Regarding WoodScaper, I’m using Mela4 FX and Turnado for that purpose, I don’t want any change in that space.

Sorry to get long winded lol I just love his apps and they seem to get somewhat underrated generally.

Not at all, it helped me a lot. Thanks, you are the king! 🤩

I didn’t realize the rotary knob function! It just shot up on my to buy list lol I wanted SB for that also, so I’m super glad you mentioned this. I wonder if it’s possible in Drambo or Loopy Pro?

I don’t have KB-1 but I do have VKB and yes it’ll probably be hard for any app to replace that for what it does

I use Xequence Keys for typical keys playing though, it’s great. And if you don’t have Salome yet, it has a lot of potential as a controller.

I don’t have Turnado surprisingly but Mela is excellent as an effect. You’re definitely probably set there 😂
