Oh, I see  I did an experimental "shake to randomize" feature and shared on twitter last week.

I'm not going to add this to the app of course. But I might squeeze a dice button to the bottom toolbar instead.

While shaking is tricky when you have cables connected to your iPad, a dice button would be a great feature. And ideally triggered by Midi CC or AU parameter as well.

+1, shake is a bit gimmicky, a dedicated button would be best - Cem, what do you think about that idea of adding triplet and dotted options? Is it doable? I think it is very desirable.

No, will announce winners later today, my timezone, maybe about roughly 6-8 hours from now depending on my schedule

It is doable. I left them out for the initial version intentionality. Triplets are pretty much the same thing with 3-note ratchets. I can add dotted notes if people demand it but I don’t think it’s super necessary. Gate-length is much much more interesting option for creating different length notes.

I just tried adding the dotted notes and they kinda mess the clean look of the Duration mode lol

Thanks Cem, I think though, let the user decide whether less clean but more functional is a problem for them! Also though, the ratchet will repeat the same note, whereas allowing triplets as a duration option will not necessarily involve repeating the note, right? So I don't see the ratchet function as replacing the function of being able to choose triplet times for note duration. Unless I'm missing something. Cheers

That's right. Technically, triplets could be different notes while the ratchets are the same note repeating. I can do two things for adding the dot/tri notes.

    1) Adding a toggle for displaying them in the Duration mode. (I really don't want many faders, that's why I add the 'grouping' option on velocity and gate modes)
    2) Adding a Note Type mode with three faders for Normal (or natural?), Dotted and Triplet options that you can set their probabilities.

I just need a few more requests to convince if people really want this feature

Totally understandable if it’s too much work but I do overall agree with @Gavinski in that it would be nice to have the additional options.

@cem_olcay I bought this last night, very fun to approach generative music from this fresh angle. already had some good results in my first play around. didn't get a chance to use the looper/midi recorder yet but that seems like a great feature

I agree with @Gavinski , dotted and triplet notes would be a useful addition. also +1 for a dice icon to randomise everything, similar to how the Randomise All button in SnakeBud works

looking forward to playing more with MuseBud tonight B)

  • +1 for triplets

  • I vote for more options the better +1 (triplets and dotted notes)

  • Btw, love the new bud @cem_olcay

  • @cem_olcay Is a clock option per pattern possible? This way you can clock divide off host bpm.

  • I like the clock divide and Gavinsky triplet dotted ideas a lot.

Here’s my +1 to more note duration options like dotted/triplet.
Being able to add in different durations so that they could be different pitches or rests makes a lot of sense & is appealing to me.
    Thanks for listening!

Oooooo +1 to this idea too!

  • Winners of the MuseBud giveaway to win any Cem Olcay app have been picked, and are as follows: Twitter, jsmonzani & MsekharTudu. Insta: shinobi.electro. YouTube: Gustavopontas3112, cuizaireekaa 🔥🔥

  • Just bought it. It’s awesome! Hooked it up to Nambu and assigned some values to some things, no idea what I was doing….immediately some very weird stuff leaps out! ( weird is good) . Congrats @cem_olcay !

  • I think I've found a bug, can someone else check this?

    I'm using AUM.

    1. Start a new project
    2. Add an instance of Musebud and make some changes, close the instance
    3. Add a second instance of MuseBud, open it, it will have the same settings as the first one(!?), now close it
    4. Open the first instance and make some changes, close it
    5. Open the second instance and the same changes will be there

So, it seems that both instances are synced, that can't be right?

That sounds low key awesome tbh. I don’t even know how to achieve that if I wanted to do it as a feature 😂
Let me check it and roll an update, thanks for reporting.
