    Very good article. Thanks!

I’ve always enjoyed this 1974 interview
where a pre-stardom Chrissie Hynde is more than a little weirded-out by Eno:

    https://thequietus.com/articles/04339-brian-eno-interview-chrissie-hynde-nme-here-come-the-warm-jets

Can’t tell if he’s bullshitting, she’s bullshitting, or both.

    Probably Hynde bullshitting.

Either way, the ending is disturbing and that kind of thing wasn’t abnormal then.

God, a few interesting ideas in this article but Eno really comes across as a prick.

I remember reading an interview with him where he berated himself for his behavior when he started out in the music industry, and how he did everything possible to make people sit up and take notice of him. He’s a little less combative and weird in his more recent interviews.

I think he still has a reputation for being difficult but yes, a lot of time has passed since this interview

Yes, he’s not known for willingness to open up or showing a sense of humor, but I gave him kudos for appearing as ‘Father Eno’ in Father Ted.

MGMT has a song about him called Brian Eno and it’s hilarious. Always wondered what the man himself thought about it. It’s poking fun but in a genuine way with respect to his work overall so I don’t think he would hate it but you never know lol

So did Half Man Half Biscuit, but I’m not sure he would appreciate that one…

Listening to it now. Never heard of these guys but they’re good. Reminds me of the Proclaimers a little bit.

They tend to reference a lot of very British things in their songs, but it’s a good mix of biting sarcasm and humor.
