Stand-alone it sounds really great. GSi are the organ masters - VB3m, Red Animal, Compact DeLuxe, and now Cantoria. Their D6 Clav is spectacular too. Keep on modeling!
Same here. Stand-alone is ok. In AUM it crackles. But, if I increase the buffer size to 2048 it work flawless. Can even load 10 instances with no problem on a 1st generation iPad Pro 12.9. DSP Goes up to 40%.
Wow was super excited about this as I’ve been aching for a modeled cathedral organ on iOS and the standalone sounds great but I’m having the weird Drum80 glitch @Gavinski is and it’s also not showing up in any other hosts period. I’ve tried 6-7 of them now and AUM is the only one it even shows up in at all.
Wonder how this was released with so many showstopping issues. Anyway, emailed them. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon because standalone sounds terrific.
The distortion problem as something to do with the reverb.
If I turn the reverb dry / wet mix to completely dry the distortion goes away completely.
For those who aren’t having issues with it showing up in hosts or switching apps with Drum80, what OS are you on? And has anyone emailed or reported the issues with a support ticket yet?
Anyone else having issues with it not showing up?
Stand-alone sounds great, but AU reverb crackles in AUM. AUv3 won’t load in Audiobus 3 (see screenshots). 12.9” iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPadOS 17.2. I hope this can be fixed, I could make use of this.
Not even showing up in Audiobus for me. Have you emailed GSI about this?
Another bug: when ran as an IAA changing the reverb type makes it crash. In standalone it crackles and then stops producing sound until you close and reopen it. What a mess.
It’s a great holiday present!
In AUM just turn off reverb and use something else like the new Spaceverb.
It works for me in Audiobus. Only it cracks when reverb is not removed.
iPados 17.2
iPad Pro M2
The reverb does seem to be an issue however 1) it’s not working in AUM period for multiple people so far and 2) the built in reverbs are IRs meant to simulate cathedrals and churches which is a big part of the pip organ sound.
That can definitely be replicated with other reverbs but would also be great if it were fixed rather than the few that can actually use being forced to do workarounds.
Weird. I’m on an Air 5, M1 but still on iOS 16. AUM is the only host it shows up in and when loaded as an AUV3 it loads their drum80 app instead lol
It works as an IAA but still has the issue with the reverb. They could really use some beta testing
The distortion and crashes were reported yesterday with a support ticket @HotStrange 👍
Confirming the reverb-induced distortion in AUM. Somehow works perfectly in Logic for iPad with no reverb issue
Thanks! Hopefully if enough people pester them they’ll get an update out quicker 😂 though I don’t expect it on Christmas.
I thought I had every reverb I needed, and perhaps I do, but if the reverb doesn't work on this, what's the best substitute for bouncing sound around off stone walls like a real cathedral?
An IR loader would probably be best. MagicVerb and AltiSpace are also very good. THAFKNAR too.
I heard about Thafknar before and today as my kids started their 3rd Disney movie of the day I cracked, slipped away, and figured it out with help from:
https://polaron.de/Thafknar/index.xml
Not a charming UI but the results are good.
There's a big thread over at KVR for IR files:

I'm going to download a bunch from:
https://openair.hosted.york.ac.uk/?page_id=36
And I've fallen into a rabbit hole, a big echoey rabbit hole:

Hahahaha the IR rabbit hole is a big one 😂 luckily a lot of them are free!
There is an updated version in the app store. I can't test it now, but hope that the problem is fixed.
Still not working for me after the update.
It’s actually worse than before, terrible crackling, not showing up at all in AUM.
I’m sure they will get it fixed eventually though.
Weird it’s finally working for me now lol 😅
I think GSI could reeeally benefit from beta testing in the community. It almost seems like they just uploaded this as soon as the coding was done with no testing at all lol one of the buggiest app releases I’ve seen which is a shame since it sounds so great. Seems like the update fixed it for half of us and made it worse for the other half.
The update fixed Cantoria in AUM for me, although I needed to replace old instances of the app with updated ones. No more crackling. 👍
(iPad M2, iOS 17.2)
Sweet! I’m still on iOS 16 but I’m not having any crackling either. I’m just glad to have a nice physically modeled cathedral organ on iOS now. And for free no less?!
Works for me 👍
I love the sound of it, the reverb is surprisingly good, and it has vector-based dry/wet control, not MIDI, so you can legitimately enter 0.001 for the value.
Oh that’s cool! The reverb was giving issues with the original version so I didn’t fully dig into it. It does sound great though. GSI can really make an organ. I have and love all 4.
This reverb is fully usable in any mix. If you want spectral and tail control and every other trick in your sleeve, split the 100% wet signal on the designated channel and do what you need to do. 🤩
It did not show up in AUM until I rebooted my iPad. I haven’t noticed any crackling yet but I’ve barely played with it.
