  • I wantED Ting as well. I have dozens of random percussive sounds, but I hear these are multi-sampled and processed in a pretty special way. Caeleum Audio has a free sample pack of “household sounds” and even body sounds (knuckle pops, yawning, etc) for free, but again - the quality and versatility of Tings offerings are of higher quality and that adorable interface.

However, Ting only has like what 12 sounds?

Am I the only one that scored the Clap Machine during this sale? I fun love my Clap Machine - if it were hardware, it would have broken on me with the amount it gets thrown into chaos, because it manages to steal the focus of every track it’s on- It’s a dirty dirty girl and very fun to bang on.

  • Also, don’t forget about LINES. I’m going to score this ASAP. It’s like being Dr. Frankenstein and tapping into the electric universe and injects LIFE into your mix.

It drastically improves literally everything that you run through it. I rarely see Lines discussed, and have not found any effect that is similar(cheaper) or even “sorta like” lines.

Maybe it’s the title of the app that triggers bias in me and is like, LINES? Yes, PLEASE. But instead of being disappointed, you’re like…. oh, that’s dope too!

  • Oh, and concur about Skaka. If your drums suck- Kiev will sort it.

For those on the fence, watch this and listen to what your beats are missing.

  • Skaka is good.

I actually refunded Borsta for a 3rd time lol. Just couldnt deal with the GUI switching as it triggers via midi and app is mainly latin ( the few samples )

Ting and slammer are good but would just sample and lose whatever it is that makes it better, than just adding to fac drum etc. To gain an overall ok cpu drum machine on different host tracks ( for the hosts sequencer and all other modules, swing and fx ) for a custom drum machine.

The clap intrigues me, although Id probably use a sample ( even though I thought id never really use samples ) because of fac drum but will use samples more.

    Grabbed skaka from klev…
What an awesome app for anyone looking to skip the finger drumming to get more realistic and humanized patterns from shakers n such, can even get a good closed hat sound.
Love that you can save patterns/grooves separately from the sound so you can swap grooves n sounds around. Gonna be sampling this a lot into Koala and the sp

Always wanted Borsta, but curious about cpu pull?

Absolutely fine … running on my old iPad Pro 2017, its CPU demand seems pretty average to me having used it quite a bit.

On my iPad Air 3 it’s runs about 35% in AUM. You could just always sample loops from it to reduce CPU load.

AUM CPU% is only relative … if your iPad cores are running at max clock speed this is a more reliable measurement, so using Borsta in an AUM set with many other demanding plugins is normally how I assess a plugin’s CPU demand.

Is SynthMaster 2 a must have?

Synthmaster 2 is for tweakers. I much prefer to noodle with Synthmaster Player because of those two X-Y pads. I WISH THEY WOULD INCLUDE THEM ON 2. Incidentally if you buy the expansion packs for the PC version they will transfer to the iOS version, but it doesn't work the other way. I ended up buying the everything bundle for PC which includes every expansion on both PC and iOS and includes ALL FUTURE EXPANSIONS AND VERSIONS. It's way more affordable than buying them all on iOS. I got the upgrade price because I bought SM2 for PC several years ago and I actually forgot about it. And if you register/create an account you get a coupon for an extra 10% off so the whole kit and kaboodle came to around $109.
