It’s tangential to music for a lot of people.
I can see the supporting arguments for it. A lot of the stuff is productivity related. Some more directly related to app use such as file sharing, organising etc.
Some just helps you create more time to focus on the music or helps with releases like photo or video stuff.
Not all of it. But even then they might introduce folks to devs who make good apps for such things.
If on a special thread, they’d get buried and there might be really useful things folk miss out on. So I can see why they are included, if not following the strict definition of music.
I found icolorama from this thread. I mangle photos for my artwork so I’m not mad at it. (my profile is a photo of my bedspread.)
Most creatives overlap in artistic interests, and in this day and age most people do the artwork for their own music… even some of the superstars crack open something like photoshop.
For myself, graphic design is my profession and music and photography are my hobbies and I am totally grateful for non-music apps posted here (ToonCamera being the last one I grabbed and instantly started doing fun stuff with it).

Fair point. I totally get where you are coming from, I have explained it in the past but not recently.
There’s several reasons I share other types of apps.
Music makers need a variety of apps to make things happen. Whether it’s notes, photos, videos, utilities, graphics, etc.. they are all important to help with the other side of music. Making social profiles, keeping track of things, jotting ideas, cover art, YouTube, manage your device, live performance, visuals, etc… these can be used in daily life, for fun, or to help musicians with all the other things that go along with music making. Even more so if someone is making money from their music endeavors.
Also In my experience a lot of creatives tend to dabble in more than one medium. Music is obviously first for me, like many here, but there are also artists, photographers, etc… in here. I like photography, graphic design, been learning to paint, heck I’m basically interested in any creative art form to some degree.
Basically if I see an app on sale that I think could be useful, fun, helpful, or interesting, to the people involved in this forum, I share it.
If it’s free I’m a little more lenient with the curation since it’s a freebie.
This is an oversimplification of my thought process but I hope it makes sense. Cheers.
PS. I tried doing 2/3 separate threads, one for music, one for the others, a few years back but it became unmanageable, so it all got condensed into one.
