No no totally valid point!! - in fact I was thinking about making it a read only thread only editable by Poppa cuz of all this

Only reason I stopped is because sometimes I have to ask a question about an app myself

But seriously no one else can post anymore , just Poppa

    (I’m kidding too ;) )

How come there are a lot of non iOS music apps on here

    Should be on topic yes?

What is the header for the thread?

let me say it with michaels own words:

This community is all about making music, with a focus on the iOS music world. Please keep all content related to music and music-making.

My friend, I have the beginnings of arthritis in both my thumbs, and somehow I manage to scroll past the stuff I’m not interested in without too much pain. I bet you can too.

    lol.

I see this as a communal effort. I obviously maintain/contribute/host the thread yearly, but Anyone is allowed to share an app sale. I want the information to be shared, so as many people as possible are able to take advantage of a discounted app price. The discussion part is also open, I’d personally prefer a bit more streamlined experience, but didn’t want to leave small discussion out. it’s intended to be focused on discussing the apps that are on sale… some questions/comments/information about the app, using it, whatever. sometimes it strays a bit. Which is totally fine, and completely natural. If a particular discussion gets long maybe the topic warrants its own thread. it keeps the scrolling amount down for those who just want to see the sales/freebies.

Honestly… The thread has a life of its own… lol.

Yes it could be better, I’ve even tried multiple threads in an effort to separate the sales, make it more concise, but it was too much work. Ultimately it’s just passing on potentially helpful sale information to the people in this community.

  • Just released

GlitchStep is is out, currently $7.99 on intro price

It is great the way it is. I don't want to have to check 12 different threads

One of the best 7.99s you will spend in a long time. An amazing array of options for glitching, a vast improvement on the previous Glitch apps

    "Requires iOS 17.2 or later."

    Bummer.

  • Imaginando have updated FRMS and put it on sale for a limited time:

    FRMS – down to $6-49
iOS in-app purchase prices down to $4.99 each

  • Highly Highly Recommend GlitchStep.

if you like GlitchCore and Snakebud- imagine the two apps combined and you have an IDEA of what it’s capable of.

I run multiple instances of it for Polyrhythms and it’s never shut out in me or lost s

It does have a life of its own and nothing should be changed. I also see some sales , or used to with appsliced, and throw them into the thread. All good long threads like this have an organic effect so segmenting it would be divisive for the threads interesting life itself i think.

It is the first thread I started following/bookmarked with at this site (meaning after a Google search brought me repeatedly to abf I wandered around and saw that apps went on sale!??? I couldn’t believe it). Most apps I bought for 2.5 yrs I been here were based off of this thread Now I don’t need any more apps atm but I still check this thread. Hahaha

NS2 for instance was far off my radar, as was Gadget (I can’t pay $20 for a groovebox knowing I won’t really use it), but ns2 was out of dev and unlikely to be used with my preferred Cubasis 3 and Loopy Pro (esp getting midi) … but I heard so much about it , it was one of those items you always have in the back of your mind, (like gadget as well but ns2 is an “[live audio track missing] daw” not really a groovebox like gadget) SO my point is, for $4.99 I was able to quell the curiosity forever and strike it off my list of DAWs to check out ..all that’s left is AEMS and MTS (which will never happen and that’s a shame because it’s $30 for the lite version and $20 for the IAP unlock so I literally can’t buy it), and I’ll have tried them all.

TOTALLY worth $5 for ns2 because it’s a masterpiece in software engineering. It just might be what people said, the best of them all HAD audio been implemented. I see why team ns2 is SO disappointed but also so devoted. IF you don’t use live audio, it certainly is the best feature wise I would say. I never thought I would feel so strongly or so quickly about a daw on iOS but I totally get why people talk about it like it’s so great but still so far from being “the one” - who knows maybe one day he’ll be bored and finish it just for fun…(it’s not that hard to just add an audio track, so so weird to me why it’s not there , this is truly an iOS mystery and I’m glad I can see what people are talking about)

@rs2000 with your sampler method, can you also play back (the main timeline) while you record ? I didn’t try it yet beyond seeing it worked with threshold , which is kind of awesome also.

All thanks to Poppas thread. Anyway…thanks I guess , you cost me a lot of money yet I’m thankful for the savings! lol

  • Music IAPs on Sale.
Apparently the VocalBeazz IAPs are just unlocked already, I wasn’t able to “purchase” unlock them.

  • Miscellaneous Free IAPs

  • Yea, well said @yellow_eyez you never know what’s gonna happen with sales and app pricing. I’ve downloaded some amazing apps for music or otherwise completely free, or quite cheap. Just like any other product or service, discounts are a way to help grow business, add customers, spread the word, etc… That’s really how all this started. I was already an app deal hunter, I loved this forum, people were friendly and helpful, answering my questions, providing advice, so I thought why not give back a little and share some of these finds.

  • I think we just need a second meta thread that we can link to if anybody wants to debate this thread.

lol. I was thinking the same thing. the discussion is warranting it’s own thread, but hopefully people can get an idea of why it is, the way it is, and we can get back to app sales. Cheers.

Not so fast! I think we should make a thread for discussing a second meta thread. We can’t just go making a second meta thread without discussing it first.

I have the biggest love/h8 relationship with FRMs. Doing industrial music, FRMS has some presets that sound like they were created by Mike Patton or Nivik Ogre themselves- super quality industrial soundscapes and shit- note, I said presets. When I hear those and then mine, it makes me feel like I’m being conned, missing a core tenant of the sound synthesis, or simply too stupid to program anything usable.

Their IAP’s are top quality, and well worth the price, I still hate that it arouses so much feels within me. Clearly it is satanic and only jinns and demons are able to program it.

  • GlitchStep is my top midi utility atm
Matter of fact was used in all of the tracks in this playlist:

    https://on.soundcloud.com/zbV5Us1C6aGnhj9G8

It’s such a great app. It has color schemas too!

Sorry if I reposted a sale.

I saw it over on Beat Community and thought it hadn't been listed on this thread.

For those just coping Pure Acid,

Found several free presets online, but soundtrackloops apparently sells your info, so lemme re-source these in the appropriate thread.
