I laughed so loud when I read this
Italizer is a no brainer at this price. V easy to use and a lot more fun than half a cup of coffee even if it is a bit niche.
Picked up Hammerhead earlier this year, so much fun, I can get lost in it for hours.
Anyone still use mutemaster?
Been considering picking either Hammerhead or Ruismaker but I reaaally don’t need another drum machine. Which do you prefer?
Ruismaker Noir feels less like a drum machine and more like Troublemaker’s goth cousin. (Experimental)
Hammerhead is a modern remake of a Win95 classic of the same name. Octachron-supported. (Practical)
Personally I use Hammerhead way more.
Hammerhead if I had to pick. Just so fun and immediate to get going. Though I’m sure with some work Noir would be the same with some setting up and saving, also the whole origin story of the app is dope. Fully biased.
How does FabFilter compare with ToneBoosters? I’ve got the TB bundle and use it regularly… love the presets. Does FF offer anything more?
At that price I’d grab both.
Definitely different enough to justify both
Noir is more of a bass/drum/percussion synth that plays one sound at a time. Has unique internal sequencer.
HH is a drum synth and/or sample/loop player (can do one shot samples or time stretch loops to fit) with 8 sound slots at a time. Each slot can be the internal synth or any sample/loop you want, there is a time limit but it’s long enough. It has a step sequencer and various parameters to alter on the sequencer like pitch/probability/velocity/etc… I truly love the glitch, and mutation Knobs in HH.
Both are great, id recommend buying both, even his whole catalog if you are able to do so….
Ultimately I think I would side with @offbrands and say HH, but you really can’t go wrong.
Definitely watch a video of each and see which one fits your style/sound better.
The big difference is that all FF are iPad only and TB apps are universal.
Other than that it’s much smaller differences. Maybe there’s a few specific features that are different, but overall both developers are high quality.
Had a chuckle myself. Lol.
Anyone who wants to try this, id do it now while it’s 5$! Its awesome! Def worth the full priceas well ….And works on iPhone and iPad, and i usually hate trying to use any daw on my iPhone but this one is serving me much better.
That’s great to know, about the iPhone thing. Cheers
For sure!
I’m still mostly on my iPad, but you can pull up a project from your iPhone the go, mess around a bit and when you get back to your iPad, its there ready to go!
Same. Totally hilarious.
All of Brams apps are a joy, can't go wrong.
Agree on that final point @Poppadocrock - what fits the style/sound better.
Maybe even get the one that's least like your own if you have a few similar ones to branch out?
At least there's a part of me that wishes I would branch out a bit more at times, so take that for what you will.
Def watch some vids!

You can load your own samples in Hammerhead, so maybe that would give you more to play with.
Zenbeats: 50% off platform unlocks

Cubasis 3: $49.99 > $24.99
(most IAPs also 50% off)
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cubasis-3-daw-music-studio/id1207839273
I’m guessing waiting for Cubasis 3 LE Full IAP to go on sale would be a more frugal choice than regular Cubasis 3, however, since it’s usually cheaper while apparently having the exact same feature set?
Well, FabFilter is considered among the best by many. That's how they can command the premium price tag. Saturn and Pro-Q3 seem to get the most love.
If you still use a PC/Mac, they offer a 30-day trial.
Some bought Hammerhead, poor @ejacul337 line of credit got hammered instead, now has become a real loopypro member for sure.
Have you tried EG Nodes? Wondering what the differences may be from that app, if you’ve tried both?
