So, $40 to get the entire synth up and running (and after the sale ends, it'll be $50)... I do like Mela 3, but I simply don't have that kind of money for synths these days. Guess I stick with Mela 3 for the time being.
It will be 60 after the sale ends by my calcs.

Hey @NeuM, for some reason I was certain that you already owned Mela 4 which would have unlocked Collections 1 & 2 automatically and you would have only needed to purchase Collection 3. But maybe I remember it wrong.
Btw you don't have to purchase all module collections at once. Even with just Collection 0, which is free, you have access to some of the most feature-rich modules, such as VA Oscillator, VA Filter, LFO, and Stereo Delay. Purchasing Collection 1 grants access to a total of 36 modules, which should be more than sufficient to create custom polyphonic synthesisers, unique audio effects, and complex MIDI processors. Additionally, modules that you haven't purchased still process and generate sound. This means you can use all factory presets as well as any other Mela preset created by anyone, even if those presets use modules you don't own.
My recommendation is to only purchase modules when you find yourself needing to use their UI.
@Nikolozi
Hey, was there supposed to be a comment for me?
Ah. Thanks for the comment. I own Mela 2 and Mela 3… so which collections would I have to buy to fill out Mela 5?
So, unfortunately, Mela 2-3 won't unlock any collections in Mela 5. There used to be a "Crossgrade to Mela 4" bundle which allowed Mela 3 users to purchase Mela 4 at a discount. But since Mela 5 is replacing Mela 4, i.e. it's not a separate app the bundle no longer exists as Mela 5 is a free download now. Mela 5 code checks if the user paid for the app when it was v4.x and grants them access to Collections 1 & 2. Because they already had access to those modules.
Since you hadn't purchased Mela 4, my recommendation is to just purchase Collection 1 as a starting point. With that, you will have access to 36 modules. That gives you access to over 60% of all modules available. Collections 0 & 1 cover a lot. You can purchase Collections 2 and 3 later on. That way you won't have to spend money all at once. Here is the full list of Collections if that helps:
Collection 0:
Amp Envelope, Arpeggiator, LFO, Meter, Relative Pitch, Stereo Delay, Transposer, VA Filter, VA Oscillator, Volume.
Collection 1:
Balance, Chord, Chorus, Control Change, Compressor, Distortion, DS Oscillator, Envelope Generator, Envelope Follower, Flanger, Glide, Level, MIDI Logger, MIDI Source, Mono, Noise Oscillator, Note Echo, Note Length, Note Range, Panic, Phaser, Pitch Bend, Random, Scale, Strummer, Velocity.
Collection 2:
Clipper, Comb Filter, DC Blocker, Degrader, EQ Band, Fixed Pitch, FM Operator, Macro, MIDI Capture, MIDI Channel, Oscilloscope, Pitch Ratio, Rectifier, Vibrato, Voice Activity, VPS Oscillator.
Collection 3:
Digital Delay, Dual Pan, Mid-Side, Phase Inverter, Simple LFO, Stereo Pan.
(Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, feel free to directly message me or on a Mela thread).
MIDI Drum - MIDI-compatible Drum sequencer.
MIDI Drum is an 8-track drum sequencer.
FREE with "Save Files" IAP.
Thanks for the clarification, and I'm sure others here will benefit from the additional information.
I have read so many good reviews of Mela synth - but I have just jumped on the Mela-train I gotten the Mela 5 app - great stuff!
But, question is, are there any inbuilt arpeggio that is hidden somewhere (sometimes I run certain apps standalone rather then thru AUM)?
Just open a new MIDI lane, then add the desired modules.
Hmmm… Are you sure, or, perhaps I’m blind - can’t find any arpeggio module to add?
Also, there’s no presets that has an arpeggio style - confused…
Sorry for derailing the thread. I’ll see myself out now! 😅
Thanks!
Did a reboot on the iPad and then Arpeggiator showed up.
@Nikolozi you are always welcome to hijack this thread, lol.
This is probably important enough to warrant its own thread, due to the update, but that’s up to you. Cheers mate.
