  • Looking at Elastic Melody and Mollilooper right now since they are on sale. The former looks like three 303s strapped to a nice sequencer right? Is there anything else special about it? Also, I don't think it comes with a drive/distortion effect, does it?

Wow the reviews on this app are phenomenal! Be warned: it does not work on iPad at all. Maybe it’s a “me issue” but as soon as I tried to start it playing a scale it crashed, consistently. It is also only sized for iPhone. They don’t claim support for iPad so I’m not faulting them, just pointing it out in case that’s a deal breaker for anyone. It has worked flawlessly on my iPhone.

As an iPhone only dude I’m blown away…usually we get the short end of the stick.

    Thank you very much, sir.
Has zeeon also an randomisation button?

  • @cam No but if you own Drambo, you can use the Meta Randomizer module to randomize a choice of Zeeon knobs with freely adjustable ranges which imo. gives you more usable results, sound-wise.

Jazz Solo Creator is cool, but it’s better used as an app geared toward practicing guitar, soloing, jamming; basically playing along to the solo creations, or potentially using them to find inspiration. The stuff it creates is generally decent, however you only get a few sliders to adjust the outcome. For me, the main drawback is no midi export, or any type of connectivity. the sound is a simple, possibly a small sized soundfont so you probably won’t be doing any screen recording to grab the audio.

I’m eyeing up Riffler Flow myself… I really like the original and I think Flow will fit better with my style so I’m quite tempted atm.

  • Curious about the Riffler apps. Will it work with a provided chord sequence and generate guitar parts?

Yes. Riffler Flow works the same way as original Riffler but the results are not so heavy metal. Much more clean guitar sounds. Quite different.

Riffler Flow is great but if you are already used to Riffler there are some elements missing. The most obvious missing feature is the ability to lock half bars you are happy with prior to regenerating a riff. Really useful feature when you are almost happy with what it has generated.

It’s just a matter of genres, then? Hmm… considering the original can be turned into MIDI, I’m not sure why they aren’t added to the original ad IAPs…
