Doesn’t seem to let me access the store with the new update. When i click sample store there is text that says ‘complete access to all libraries’. I can highlight it but nothing happens. I’m on 16.7.2 on a 4th gen iPad Pro.

Same for me and I seem to have lost my factory sounds now as well!

Yeah, there’s some kind of strange behavior going on with this update. Maybe it just needs a while to complete on the back end. The libraries show in AudioLayer but still “Need to be downloaded”.

  • Looks like Patterning 3 just increased to 25 bucks as of 1130 Eastern on April 18. Damn. I literally was just finishing some chores and was about to open the iTunes gift card that arrived about an hour ago. Everything I read said that the new pricing was starting April 20. 😔

  • Tried emailing Olympia. Typed out a message but there's no submit button. Ah well. Too bad, it took me some time to get the points to get an iTunes gift card that I got for Patterning 3. Guess it was a day late.

Is Helium the best alternative to Atom for capturing and playing back midi in AUM? If you think not, what is?

If you want auv3 there's also LK.

Each Atom 2 instance can have multiple patterns but can play back one instrument or whatever instruments it's routed to (ie you can't have each pattern routed to different instruments). It will capture all midi data but you can't edit CC.

Helium has multiple tracks that can each be routed on a different channel. It can edit CC data... Not sure if it can record and edit PC as I've never tried.

LK will record all midi data and also allows editing of CC and PC. It can also record and play back multiple tracks from one instance.

If you want auv3 and like a scene workflow like Gadget 3 or Ableton, LK is best. If you like a linear piano roll workflow auv3, Helium will be best.

I personally think it probably is… it’s a close call cause LK, and Drambo are good options too, more of a personal preference. I use both A2 & Helium the most. Atom 2 is my go to solution, but Helium is great in its own right. One of my favorite features in Helium is the media bay, which has thousands upon thousands of midi chords and chord progressions already inside. Then you can bulk upload all the midi you want and have it right inside the Au. So it’s great to have a bunch of midi at your fingertips to drag and drop right in to the Helium piano roll.

PS. this is definitely going to be a personal preference, and workflow decision that will vary from person to person.

Thanks @necrobyte i wanted to share that picture from the email I received but forgot. appraven and the AppStore it said “the vault” $2.99 and I wasn’t sure what that meant until I saw the email later on with that photo. Thanks for the assistance. Cheers mate.

Thank you. I got LK + all IAPs in a sale, way back, and got swept along the Atom hype train. Reality is, neither workflow ever worked for me in AUM. I’m hoping Helium would 👍

What doesn't work for you with LK? If we know what doesn't work you we might be able to speak to whether Helium will work. @Poppadocrock is right, I forgot about Drambo. The problem with Drambo is that the MidiFx has a bug where the first note either doesn't get recorded or is recorded wrong if you are routing midi into it, press record, then press play in AUM. I've tried all my sequencers and the first note always gets borked.

Just got an email saying this was an error—it's back down to the intro pricing until tomorrow.

There was a mistake in the app pricing schedule and the price briefly went up a day early! It's fixed now, so go ahead and try again if you saw the wrong price.

In case you're wondering -- According to the Apple docs, if you ordered at the higher price and then the price lowered during preorder, you will be charged the lower price at launch. My apologies and thanks for your support!

Patterning 3 is scheduled to launch on May 24th!

Friday, April 19 is the last day to get the early bird pre-order price on Patterning 3. It is currently $10 US off the launch price at $19.99 US.

On April 20, the price will go up to $24.99, and then $29.99 at launch.

man this thread is so exhausting, maybe have to skip it completely .. around a hundred new posts every other day and the majority of them redundant, is just too much for my taste

You should have started a new thread/post for this. Now you forced me to read your comment, and > @NoncompliantBryant said:

You don’t pay for preorders, you just secure the price.

Yeah, I've never pre-ordered before and didn't know that until I, well, pre-ordered.

  • Some Free IAPs

  • I only lacked two of his releases and to my surprise I got both for free when checking the bundle page, on the singled out ones there was a price, so, that was nice.

The Xinematix offer was also nice and I jumped on the offer directly only to find that no sounds are downloadable. Guess a fix is coming but still :)

The AudioCopy offer also sounded nice but in "my" AC-store the prices are NOT those advertised.

how's that? the post you quoted is from months ago, in the meantime I've completely given up following this monstrous thread :)

Apologies if this has been mentioned however does anyone k ow how big the full Xinematix library is?

Edit: sorry saw the answer on the Xinematix thread - 35gb

  • The Xinematix price is just the new one going forward, not a sale, right?

Honestly I am not sure how that was posted. Months ago I felt like posting that but I never did. I only intended to post the second comment. Chill out man and don’t use my rather stupid comment to make a generalization of the community!

Weird eh! I’ve seen figures of 25 and 35 go so far.

Out of interest, is it possible to move the library to an ssd once downloaded on the iPad internal storage?
