How to Arrange More Complex Pop Music Instrumentals?

  • @seonnthaproducer Thanks for the advice man. So glad to hear from you mate. :) I think I'm starting to get this Pop production stuff down real good, from layering and bussing and other such techniques. "Night Sky" is a track from my upcoming "Pop Era" EP where the instrumental was inspired by Sia's instrumentals, but the lyrics were inspired by Glenn Frey.

Although regarding simpler melodies and such, Garageband is king for that. I just produced a Folk Pop song in GB. It was actually Mum's song that she wanted me to produce in that style, and I finally did it. (I didn't have the proper techniques to produce Folk before Mum passed, and it took me all this while to finally bring myself to make it.)

Agreed. I still use Garageband a lot because of its familiarity, speed, and ease of use in creating projects.

Well done on the Folk song, and the success you've been having with the Soundcloud views.

  • @Pxlhg Is there anything that man can't do musically? I daresay that Max is the King of Modern Pop while Michael Jackson remains the OG King of Pop. Max is a huge inspiration!

@seonnthaproducer Thanks mate. Glad to hear it. Garageband is killer for all sorts of non-beat-based genres like Folk, Alternative, etc. I jolly well may explore that Alternative genre, at least for one song.

  • Not to derail my own thread, but oh...my...f--king...GOD!!!

    😱

  • How about something like this?

That's cool! I didn't know that's what Genre Selection did. I'll have to mess around with Genre Selection.
