Borderlands on sale for $4

Even if you don’t much care for granular—like me—you cannot pass this up. It’s an iOS classic for good reason.

  • Run, don’t walk. This is what a touch interface is all about.

  • Holy shit I'd buy it again if I could!!

Just had to buy this. Great fun. Wonderful sounds. And remember:
Saturday 25th May is Drone Day !

  • YES! :) Can't wait for Drone Day, and I can't wait to play with Borderlands Granular again. As @sevenape said, if we could buy it again we would! Amazing app.

  • The latest Jakob Haq vid is using it in a “non-granular” way:

Seems to take a while until the price drop propagates to all countries?

Edit: Yep, Feb 29 deal is here 😇

  • Is it auv3 ?

  • @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr Thanks for the tip! I’ve always balked at the price as it’s not AUv3 (yet, at least), despite its reputation. Can’t resist at this price, though.

  • Quick question: how do you get audio into Borderlands if you don't have Audioshare? (except for the audio recording of course)

You can access the imported audio folder via the files app. Just drop your samples in there and it should find them when you start the app.

iOS Files app => On my iPad => Borderlands => Imported_Sounds => your audio files.
Without purchasing Audioshare and importing from it once, this folder does not exist so you'll need to create it yourself.

  • Is it worth buying even it's not updated for last 4 years?

  • Buy it for what it is today, not what you hope it might be. However, it is still being worked on:

On the basis of a brief session late last night after purchasing, I’d give it a resounding “yes”! It is truly lovely. And different enough to other granular apps to be useful, too. Being able to load several samples and set it pick grains from mix points is very different to the other instruments I have.

One of the things I love about granular synthesis is that no two granular instruments sound the same, even if the concepts are similar.

For four dollars? Shoot, I’ve had more expensive cups of coffee!

  • I see 5.99 on my end. In US.

  • I think its an iPad classic, hall of fame up there with Samplr etc. Worth much more than 3.99$ (or 5.99).

  • Yeah they’ve changed the pricing a few times in the last 24 hours for anyone curious.

Yeah it’s for leap year. The dev said the price will increase little by little until it’s back to normal Sunday.

Absolutely. I talked to the dev last night and there’s a huge update coming. It’s still a few months away, but he’s dedicated to getting it out. And it’s bug and glitch free right now. One of the most stable apps I have.

What you get depends a lot on the samples you're using and the settings per grain cloud .

  • That’s pretty exciting! It’s been a while since I’ve used it…….

Heck yah and the automation too. It's a great app. Only wish you could assign multiple outputs. Would use it much more if I could.

Wow that’s definitely a different take. I could make whole albums just with this app
