    A “meh” novelty.

Just warning others this hype train may be derailed. Excuse me for posting on your forum again

I think it depends on what kind of music you like creating. If you're into sound design, this app is far from "meh" -- it's incredibly exciting and versatile. This is the kind of stuff that fascinates me (hype aside).
But I know lots of people who prefer more traditional/popular music, and they would agree with your assessment.

But hype is not always a bad thing. I find that as long as I'm not overspending, app hype can push me to dig-in, read about an app, and then create more in the end.

    Enthusiasm is not hype.

  • I purchased this in Nov 2012, and I well remember the eager anticipation I felt while watching Chris Carlson’s pre-release updates. I seem to recall that it was being developed out of a university research project of his. It was a brilliant example at the time of what could be done with the iOS touch interface with a bit of imagination and a lot of technical ability. I believe it still stands today as a very intuitive app and it has given me great pleasure using it through all these years. I for one am eager to see what developments may be in the pipeline and feel grateful that this app is still being worked on.

You have made passive aggression your full time job. And posting on every topic must make you a boss in your mind.

Overhyped meh apps are par for the course on ipad. I will start my own thread so you can dominate the rest.

At what point does hype become consensus!? This app has been out and pretty much universally loved for 12 years. It’s totally fair to say you don’t like it, but to claim that this is all hype is a bit strange after more than a decade.
