  • Wow, wasn't expecting that. I wonder whether this means we may eventually end up with the Ozone Mastering Suite on iOS? I'd be all over that!

  • @ninobeatz it loads & works for me in Beatmaker 3

    Thanks 🤝

  • Bought it. Looking good so far (not used to the different interface from Trash 2 yet though).

    From the manual.

There are 2 other things too, multiband and fx, that are only in the paid version. I assume that multiband could be hacked together using several instances of Trash with some of the multiband auv3 available, wasn't it Blue Mangoo who made one, for example? Fx is just envelope follower and filter I think?

To be clear, I got the impression from the manual that the two features listed in the manual aren't in the paid iOS version either.

Seems they are there tho! Look at the screenshot Nino just posted of this on iOS - it has the multiband and fx which are missing on the free version

I can confirm they are there.

If @ninobeatz screenshot is from iOS then the preset browser does seem to be there after all!

How about custom impulse loading? Can @ninobeatz or another user perhaps confirm if this is possible on the iOS version?

I found another inaccuracy in the manual - it claims that iOS17 is required but the free iOS trial is working quite happily on my iOS16 iPad Pro.

  • Trash is a really nice one but judging it based on what the 'free' portion delivers wouldn't be fair, it does a LOT more.
I guess there will be a bunch of videos popping up totally dissecting every part of Trash...

...this was my second purchase in March, the first one was Xvox...

Unfortunately no custom impulse loading on iOS. iOS version is missing the “custom” option

    Thanks ...

Also seems to be missing the Presets option as I'd originally thought from reading the manual, so I'm guessing your earlier screenshot must have been the desktop version?

Correct..my first pictures were from the desktop. The iOS version had a hang up that was fixed Monday morning. It almost didn’t launch

  • 114 MB for a distortion app? Oh, man. I don't think so.

They ship a lot of IRs for a background sound feature playing with the distortion (you can also record your own).

  • I agree that it's kinda heavy for a Distortion app.
Has anyone tried the iap and can tell it's upgrade-worthy?
Here's my first test of the free version. I do like how it sounds.

Ah, yes. That must be the reason.

    Price?

More than expected. Will have to think on it. Seems like prices are now edging up now for iOS.

It's a first for me that the iOS version is more expensive than the desktop version. Upgrade vs new though.

How much are you getting the upgrade for? I logged in to the iZotope site and it shows as $29 for me vs. $19.99 for the iOS app.

  • For me, In-App Purchases: Trash Upgrade $19.99 ... or $29.99 on desktop to upgrade from Trash 2 (or ~$24 on JRRshop).

I'll wait until it's $9.99 on either platform. By end of year I would expect ios app to be there. Izotope, and their affiliated companies, have proven they will eventually reach that price point (if one is patient).

  • edited March 12

It’s nice - but arter i upgraded it got really memory intensive and crackly. I think I like the demo more than the full product.
I can throw in a couple of Saturns or vultures without problems - so it needs to be optimised. That IR thing’ just kills it🤔

I was just going to buy the Trash desktop upgrade on my account and it disappeared. Now all I see is a ‘crossgrade’ for $49.

I’ll check later, but will hold off on desktop if I don’t have the $29 option.

Lot of reports of such behavior with their website. Reports are if you buy an upgrade from a third-party, it will register to your account as long as you have Trash 1 or 2 already, but I have not tried and cannot vouch. Reseller prices will get you down below $29 depending on the vendor and the account points, etc.

Have you seen one? I’ll check the sites I know, but don’t remember seeing an email.

I meant a link, but I found one in an email that got sent to my junk folder, and it took me to the upgrade on the iZotope website.

The acquisition by NI has been a real shit show ever since it was announced.

  • Glad you got it sorted. To be honest, they were a shitshow before, and not sure it's exactly an acquisition. More like a combining of assets by their PE owners.

The app upgrade in Australia is AU$30

  • Can you automate the XY pad?

So earlier on the price for me was £29.40. Not anymore.

Really shoddy. I ended up getting shot of all my Izotope stuff when most of it got unceremoniously EOL’d and there were lots of quality control issues.

Now they expect me to buy what’s in some ways a cut down version of Trash 2 for £29.40 then all of a sudden change that price to £76!

I wasn’t that tempted at £29. £76? For less than what I had before which was then abandoned for years? Yeah right.

Yeah, the offer is there in my account, but they changed the price on the main screen and it remains £76 if you add to basket. That's shoddy. Most sites give you the price you should actually pay on the main screen and it changed.

Everything about Izotope/NI and PA feels shoddy these days.

The login button on the Izotope home page (in Safari on the Mac with content blockers switched off) doesn't even work.
