iMaschine Export Options
Hi. I was wondering how I can get audio from iMaschine into a DAW like Cubasis. I know it doesn't support IAA or AB, but can you audio paste? All I see under export is Sound Cloud. Thanks.
Comments
Basically there are two options here as far as I know...One is exporting the audio/project as a Maschine project. This will put the rendered audio tracks etc in the iTunes Filesharing so you can grab the files on your computer with iTunes (or any iDevice file explorer program).
Second option is to export to soundcloud (you can make a new private soundclount account just for stuff like this). Solo each track->export to soundcloud for each track. You should be able to download the wav files from soundcloud on your iDevice using basically any app that...can download stuff. And from there use "open in.." etc. Soundcloud do tend to degrade the sound quality somewhat though, usually not that apparent on a simple beat tho
And the above is why I deleted iMaschine, which I figure their bean counters assessed as an acceptable part of the inevitable collateral damage of their chosen closed policy.
@JohnnyGoodyear: exactly!also deleted.
@ChrisG When you mention an iDevice file explorer program, do you mean an app on the iPad that can import the iMaschne samples? I would like to keep everything on the iPad if possible instead of having to use my computer or Sound Cloud.
No an iDevice file explorer for your computer (like iFunbox). Using iTunes is a real pain, and mostly useless as it only gives access to the iTunes filesharing folder.
Other then that, soundcloud is the only option.
OR, you can purchase the app and the IAPs. The sound sets etc will all be neatly organized into proper folder structures for you to rip out using iFunbox. Buy iMPC Pro, use iFunbox to slap that folder with all those great kits in it into iMPC Pro. Voila, ACP, IAA etc for all your iMaschine kits/sounds. IMaschine plus the IAPs is pretty cheap for that massive drum kit library IMO
@ChrisG Thanks for this.Never thought about it this way.
I also deleted imaschine but put the samples into nanostudio. Too bad, because imaschine is a lot of fun.
I agree with you Mister Rufino (which is why I'm still bitter about it ...
I put all the IAPs samples from MPC, iMPC, and iMachine into Audioshare to feed to Dropbox, MTS, BM2 etc.
There are plenty of apps with Audio Copy/Paste that also download from Soundcloud. Most of the Yamaha apps have that: Tnr-i, Cloud Recorder, Synth Arp and Drums. I think Nlog does this too. I use the export to Soundcloud stem options and then download it and copy and paste into my app of choice.
@ChrisG Wow I didn't know you could do that. I have IMPC Pro and I just now purchased Funbox. Thanks for the tip.

To be fair, if you have maschine the projects open there. But I don't and don't plan on it. Using the samples in nanostudio works really well though.

I hear you (and others) and will try and get my money's worth by way of a little harvesting...

iFunbox is a free program for your computer, it's a file explorer/manager for idevices. I know there are apps on the AppStore with similar names, but no extra app or anything is needed.
@ChrisG Sorry to be a pain in the proverbial, but as and when you get a moment can you outline where in your 'take them out of iMaschine/put them into IMPC Pro' plan slow folks like me should be aiming to drop the files into the latter once harvested from the former...I need a step-by-step diagram sometimes just to tie my own shoes...
Doug's already got you covered.
Thank you Mister Charge. What a fool I am to have not first gone to the well.
I don't have it handy at the moment, but I remember the Quantum Collection (free IAP) samples being in a different location than the "factory" samples.
This is the kind of stuff why I always jailbreak my devices... I use iFile (cydia/jb app, paid) to transfer my files around the apps without using a desktop
...but it cost you system ressources/stability and the loss of any developer support.I prefer the iFunbox way

My experience has been that my jailbroken devices have been as stable as they were when they weren't jailbroken. I don't use a lot of tweaks which may play a part in that. As far as losing developer support, it is precisely that lack of developer support (e.g. lack of file management, lack of Dropbox integration, etc.) that has led to us needing tools such as iFile to manipulate our files which we purchased:)
You must be lucky then, there are enough reports where JB causes problems when running hi performance tasks such as realtime audio processing (especially something like Auria). There ARE undoubtedly more processes running in the backround than without a JB,sucking up ressources.Or worse. To each their own i guess.
I can get the free IAP samples via iFunbox, but I can't do the same with the factory ones.
I don't know if it's impossible do this.

I remember they're inside a folder called "factory". The samples folders and "presets" are located in different places I believe (you want the one with the samples/wavs). Can't check right now, will do it tomorrow if you still can't get to the samples.
Thanks, @ChrisG. Take it easy.
My jailbroken 4s was very unstable after a while. I "un-jailbroke" it and it's been great ever since. Yes, I loved ifile and I loved my free hotspot, but the constant issues with stability were eventually not worth it to me.
I purchased iFunBox Pro and I can see the root folder but there is nothing in the sub folders (applications, documents, etc). Is there something I missed?

iFunbox for your computer, it's not an app (DL here: http://i-funbox.com/) . I'm guessing the app you bought is hitching a ride on the "brand name" iFunbox, it looks like a simple file manager that allows you to shuffle files around using cloud services and local wifi (there are loads of those on the AppStore). Just hit "report a problem" on the email receipt (or in iTunes) on that purchase, you'll be redirected to Apples website, just chose an option (like "I didn't mean to buy this app") and press the refund button. And you should have those 3-4 bucks back in a day or two.
@ ChrisG Damn. Well at least I got my money back.
So there's no way to access the iMachine folder from just the iPad? That would be great if there is a file explorer that runs internally on the iPad. Of course the way apps are sandboxed, I doubt that would be true.
